I seriously wish people would stop coming in early and stop not having their tea breaks in our office. It would show the management that 99% of them are working unpaid overtime because the walks are all timed wrong.

I have managed to be lucky and avoid the strike action again, Saturday is my day off this week. Didn't make the picketline on Friday due to having a sick kid at home, but I will be one of the lazy ******** who will be there on Saturday.

we have a few in our office
one is a genuine decent bloke,i like him but he just wont listen
he comes in 2!! hours early to do a duty way too big
    never finishes before his time
when he is off nobody can finish his duty anywhere near their time

How are posties incentivised? Some piece work bonus would seem to be appropriate...

according to most we should be grateful we have a job ;)

    theres no bonus as such
we used to get 50% of any savings made in the unit split between the staff
    thats gone now
the only per door bonus is the unaddressed D2D items,1.67p per item.however they are a PITA and i would happily opt out if i could
the old incentive was job & finish

D2D Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Nice when u can stick em inside each other when u have a few (yes i know, not strictly allowed), but when u have those single things they are a p.i.t.a, when u have to load them into a frame first..

And yes, we have one in our office who does 2 hrs every morning for the sake of getting out early, so he can finish on time. Silly b*gger.

Hoping to avoid most of strike action by changing days off, defeats the purpose a bit, but as a single parent every penny counts IYSWIM. Wish I could afford to support more, but if i supply the bacon/sausage sarnies on the picket lines along with the hot coffee, i'm sure doing my bit:p

So while your colleagues are losing money due to striking your not. Does that not strike (excuse pun) as a little unfair. Surely if you believed in the cause you should at least put that days pay into the strike fund?

Aren't a lot of posties also firemen, so you can have a kip in the Station when on nights?

I know a little off topic, but I wonder if the continued disruption will affect the 'little extras' some customers give their postie? I always tip our postie at Christmas, he is excellent. I have a business collection every weekday too, another tip. Both worthy in my experience.

Neither of my posties want to strike. The collection postie is married to a postie, newly married with a young child. Losing a couple of days income x 2 is very harsh for them. I wouldn't do their job and I am sure if they could find an alternative they would. But they don't moan, they just get on with it. I hope the action doesn't turn the public off the postie on the street.

If I could afford to yes. Unfortunately as a part time postie and a single parent it's impossible. My time will come when I lose money due to the strike and others will be allotted this day as their day off. Swings and roundabouts, I've just been mega lucky this time.

I will still give up my day off to stand on picket line and take flasks of coffee and bacon sarnies round :o

I can think of 2.5million people that would agree with that statement !
