I'm glad they're changing. I don't like the dark mornings, so if the clocks changing back means it's light an hour earlier, then i'm all for it.

I keep 12 hour shifts too. Days this weekend.

But like all the years previously, I come in 30 minutes earlier to take the watch.

    30 mins extra each.
That's a good idea. Must suggest it to management...after checking next year's rota to make sure I'm not on days.
    Been away for a while.

I think originally it was for kiddies to be going to school in the daylight. I think they found there was less road accidents when they changed the clocks.

It would still be dark here at nearly 10am in the middle of winter if the clocks didn't go back.
  • I love winter so it doesnt really bother me that much.

I thought it was for the farmers?
So they wouldn't be starting in darkness to bring in the cows for milking & other famer type stuff.

But now a days its all floodlit so its not needed anymore for this reason.

    Really?

Where do you live? In the very north of Scotland?

My family are from Ireland, the west. Which is actually the north-west quarter & it stays light so late there in summer.

I love that, because I love the light evenings & I hate the winter:(

I love this time of year, its my farvourie time, and i look forward to the clocks changing as I love the nights setting in earlier. Its a great excuse for snuggling up on the couch.

yes in front of a fire which costs loads over the winter to keep you warm plus all the lights on longer. Prefer to be stretched out on a garden lounger in the sun cheaper too.

But it's only lighter in the mornings for a short time and then back to being dark again.
