My Mother in Law used to swear by the addition of a couple of sterident tablets to the final rinse and she always had bright white towels and nets. For nets she used to soak them in the sterident in the bath, but towels she just used to put the sterident into the fabric conditioner bit of the washer.Jane

Napisan!!
I soak really grubby school white polo shirts from soon to be 5 year old. Covered in stains from goodness knows what at lunchtime. Plus all the free fruit they get so orange stains galore.
Always come up clean and bright, although some take soaking for 24 hours to achieve this.:hello:0 -

Hi walks,
I've added your post onto an earlier thread about getting whites white to help keep these tips all in one place.
Since posts are listed in date order you'll need to read from the beginning to catch up.

I just about remember this, it is called "DOLLY BLUE" I bought some at a shop in Skipton North Yorkshire some years ago.
It is however very hard to find but I tracked some down to a web site called
https://www.oldapothecary.co.uk
click on the heading HOUSEMAIDS COMPANION they sell it as Robin Blue but it is the same thing;) it is £1.50 a box
Sorry I am not that confident to do links yet:o
Be aware that this very bright blue powder is messy stuff and seems to make the clothes whiter by giving them a blue-white tinge ~ not sure if that is what you had in mind?
