OS way to brighter whites?

Hi all
Just wondered if anyone had any top tips for brightening whites.
The problem I have is that its on one of those layered tops - its black with white underneath showing at the neck, sleeves and bottom of the top ....... you know the kind I mean??
Well the white underneath bit that shows has gone really off-white - nearly to the point of grey and I don't know how to brighten it up again - especially as its attached to a black top!
Any ideas that wont drain the colour from the black part?
Cheers

if its got that bad i`d be tempted to dye the whole top black at least you could still wear it thenproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0

Its not really bad - just off white - but its not a 'good look'. lol
I like your idea of dyeing the whole thing black -never thought of that! I've got a pair of fading black jeans I could do at the same time too!
Result!
Thanks for that!

Before you give up, try using a colour catcher in the wash. You'll find them in the same aisle as the detergents. Bung one in the wash and it acts kind of like blotting paper, soaking up stray dye. Rescued a couple of my t-shirts after they got washed with jeans!0

If you usually use a 'for colours' type washing powder to wash this top try changing to a 'normal' one for a few washes & make sure you use the correct amount of powder too: not as important when washing 'clean' colours but makes all the difference to whitesI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

Does anyone have a magic answer to restoring nylon/lycra white underwear to its original whiteness? I really don't want to throw perfectly good undies away, but I just hate the off white look:cool:When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

Grey laundry back to white - I've done it! (pure OS)
Can you do anything with grey clothing

Brightening whites (well, greys at the mo)

I'm hoping someone can help me please. I have some t-shirts, all different colours that have white collars on them. The collars have gone a bit chewing gum white and I want to get them pure white again, or as close as I can. I was going to get some of that oxy action whitening stuff but the instructions on the tub say it can only be used on clothes that are all white and not to be used on whites that have any colour at all on them. Is there anything I can do to get the collars a bit whiter?
Thanks in advance.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
