I too have been caught out and called up today about it. Because I don't really use the card, the charges have been overlooked and now found out this has been happening since April 07 !!!!!!!!!
Somone within these forums mentioned calling 0800 0288 251, a helpful woman answered and said she would cancel the membership and send a full refund. She said I would recieve an email - I called aboout 30 mins ago and now email as yet but I will keep you posted.
Technically its legitimate scam, but a scam all the same as if you ring the 08456 722 002 number on the website, its clear by the way you are given the chance to cancel but yet not speak to someone directly. They clearly make their money from people not noticing.0 -
I am just updating my current status with these con artists. Although I am not sure why everyone else seems to get a refund and I get messed about. I am currently talking to the financial ombudsman about the fact that LloydsTSB card services has point blank refused to help. There stance is that since it was an on going payment, I must have initiated it. Therefore I have to talk to the company to get the money back. The company, clubprem in this instance, has fed me a pack of lies and refused to refund any money. If I don't get any joy from the ombudsman I am going to be seeing a lawyer.
Forget to add. Don't deal with LloydsTSB for credit cards. They don't give a damn as long as they get their money each month. The branches, and insurance people are nice to deal with, the card services are money hungry and unhelpful.0 -
Just wanted to thank everyone for this thread. I was about to order some cards from this company, but having read the comments here, think I'll pass. Better safe than sorry.:beer:Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0

This company has many complaints around the net on quite a few forums, which also say to avoid them.
I have to ask, how on earth can a debit be taken from your credit card etc. and not notice that you are paying for something each month that you haven't requested or signed up for
I do hope those who have been ripped off get their money backWow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

Not being funny or anything - but just because a lot of people do something doesn't necessarily make it a smart thing to do......0 -
I only realised last week that Clubprem have been taking £11.95 a month for nearly 2 years from our business card. This was somehow thro VISTAPRINT and free business cards. I emailed and faxed threatening with Watchdog, OfT and my bank as I was furious. Well yesterday a cheque refund of all monies they had taken £252.85 was sent to me as a goodwill gesture - goodwill !ha ha they had no right to my money in the first place. I just hope the cheque clears.:T0

News about Vistaprint here, including courts actions in the USA and an ASA ruling:-

Well spotted, trisontana.
Years ago I complained to Amazon UK about its habit of stuffing my orders with crummy leaflets from VistaPrint. But Amazon was on a nice little earner from VistaPrint and the fact that it was Amazon -- not a B2B enterprise -- which was circulating such junk said a great deal about how VistaPrint operates and the target markets it seeks to exploit.
(Normally I never recommend Wiki as a source an information source for, well, anything beyond the trivial, but this link leads to a section that shows just what VistaPrint rakes in, and from where:)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vistaprint
If it were a company with an ounce of integrity, it would stay well clear of any business practice which held within it the potential to mislead or exploit.
Yet as VistaPrint has known for years that it keeps having to refund monies to people from whom it should never have been taken (whilst retaining monies from those too dim to look after their own best interests) it's clear the words 'integrity' and 'VistaPrint' are never going to feature in the same sentence. . .
Unless that sentence is shoved it on the back of all those "free" business cards VistaPrint touts to millions not in business of any kind.0 -
Vista print must be making a fair ole dinkum in interest before they refund...
A couple of years ago we got caught out by them. I am a checker of t&c's but this slipped right past. Luckily we check our statements weekly and only one bogus payment was taken and we were able to get a fairly speedy refund.
That's what I love about MSE, I can now check the basic integrity of many companies by coming here and hopefully avoid the scammers.0 -
I find it disgusting that Vista Print should be allowed to take money illegally from tens of thousands of people worldwide and to get away with it.
