Just got my phonecall to go collect my new Vivienne Westwood specs from Asda. I only put in the order on Sunday and it's Thursday now, so super quick. The cheapest I saw these frames anywhere else was online and were £155 and at Asda they were £70.
The staff at the Crossharbour branch seem a bit surly but I think I'll take surly if you get that much money off!0 -
Hi guys, is the £50 offer for one still on? I know I saw adverts for 2 for £90....
Also I have -5.25 and -6.0 any idea if they will give me the 1.67 index lenses as that is what I usually go for..... Thanks.0 -
Hi,
just been to asda with my prescription...the one in Beckton London.
My prescription is -5.5 and -5.0
The lady claims that the the price advertised only includes that standard lens and that i have to pay £190 for the 1.67 lens in addition to the frame price. If this is the case i should've just stayed with my opticians!!
Is this corrrect?

Hi
I've just been to my nearest Asda Opticians (which is S!!!!horpe) and got a pair of designer frames with varifocals with the 1.67 mm thin lens for £110!! I was in there for about an hour and dealt with by the Dispensing Optician, so got very good service, I need a -3.25 and -5.25, so am quite short-sighted. 1 year ago I paid £445 for the virtual same pair at Boots, so it's about quarter of the price!! I was so impressed with this I decided to go the whole hog and ordered a second pair which only cost me another £60 - and this still included the thin lens and the variofocal Hoya lens- mega saving:j
If I don't see you through the week, I'll see you through the window!!:hello:0 -

Hi
I was told at Asda yesterday that the deal included up to a -8 lens, so you should be ok:hello:0 -
I picked up my new specs from Asda in Ipswich at the weekend, and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. Mr Boden and I went last weekend to choose our frames and checked and doublechecked by phoning them beforehand (100 mile round trip) that Yes they do include thin lenses for ALL prescription strengths (mine is -8 and -9), they are 1.74 thin lenses included in the price and there is no extra cost for anti-scratch/ reflective coatings.
I went with an open mind - I normally struggle to find just one pair I like let alone two. But both of us managed to find two very good pairs each fairly quickly from their designer range. I must say though that they are not designers you have heard of. They are a small place, but do have enough of a range to suit all tastes and styles I think, and even I managed to chose four frames I liked!
So both me and Mr Boden picked up two designer pairs of glasses each with the 1.74 index thin lenses for £90 each pair.
The surprising thing was that they were ready within the week: ordered Saturday, phone call Thursday.
No complaints from us, and very good service too. Jut hope that the offer continues....0 -
