A little tip..one i have used for some time. When in urban traffic,i.e 30mph zones, drive in third gear. This makes you more aware of your speed and with modern, powerful engines, your less likely to inadvertently creep over the 30.

is it really the case that the law can require you to give evidence against your other half?

His wife doesn't have to name him.

In return she can expect 6 points.

since speed limits are imposed for a reason,

Sometimes, sometimes not. I am starting to see rather random 30mph limits imposed when 40 or perhaps 50 would be more appropriate. People don't in general mind the speed limit in towns and villages if they are there for a reason.

For example we live in a small village with a 30mph limit. This then goes to 20mph half an hour either side of the primary school coming in/out. I do get incandescent with rage when they fly through the village at 50mph.

But why impose a 30mph on a road that is a dual carriage way; unless there is a specific reason.

OP you are onto a hiding to nothing on here but I suspect you are quite enjoying it. Go and fight for the speed limit to be changed but otherwise you will really need to pay up (unless they are incorrect)

It's ok fella i will just accept it
    It's not that important
Just laughable what some people are like
By the way it was a dual carriageway so no-one could of just stepped in front of the car
The camera/police must of been well hidden for me not to have seen it
Very sneaky but it's done now

    Hum,

I imagine you would have also missed this Police officer who also was totally hidden and you really would have trouble to spot him on the motorway? dont worry your not alone millions would also miss him, after all what ever happens on a motorway or dual carriageway

    Spot the Cop

It's an automatic so cannot keep it in third.

    I've seen it done myself
There is a bus stop outside our house
There has been many a time a police officer has parked his car round the corner out of sight and hid behind the bushes where the bus stop is.
Only to step out when a car driving too fast comes into view to pull them over.
You would never see him even if you were looking for him
Not until you drove down the road too fast and then he stepped out into view

So all the smart !!!! comments about not even being able to see them are a waste of time

Must be the only place on earth though
Only yeasterday i was behind a police car doing 40 in a 30
And they are the ones enforcing the law
    Joke !

None of that matters mate, as far as the law is concerned... you're guilty until you prove otherwise! Whether that's a correct assumption of the law as it stands is open to debate but that's how it seems to be.

They have the technology ;) & it's up to you to prove them wrong!

If it were me I'd take the 3 points rather than risk a costly court appearance.... unless you're sure you weren't speeding & have some evidence to back it up?
Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!

Return the NIP blank, with a letter stating you can't identify the driver as it may have been you or your partner.

    Wait for a response.
