Lemon car, private seller

Are you being serious?...£900 for a car and you seem to expect perfection.
(1) The vibration is almost certainly only a need for the front wheels balancing, cost; about a tenner.
(2) The windows not demisting, easy cheap cure, open your drivers window.
(3) The " oil measure thingy " is I guess your dipstick, cost of replacement, a few quid at your local car breakers.
Get real.
1/ He could try swapping the rear wheels for the front ones might work might not.
2/As above plus buy a cloth from a pound shop, keep it in the driver's door pocket.
3/ As above I got one for 50p from a scrapyard last year for a car a lot rarer than anything I can think of by nissan. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Im afraid with a private seller you have no come back as private sales are sold as seen and I think your mechanic needs to retake his tests , he should have noticed oil gauge and wheel wobbling upon test drive, I advise anyone buying private vehicles to really do a good 1hour minimum test drive and look at everything. As for the £500 spent it should only cost £200 for the repairs so I feel you have been let down upon repairs.
If it's unbalanced wheel you may only notice it at A road and motorway speeds and it's described by OP as vibration not wobble which is not the same IMO.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Ooookay...

No power below 1.5k rpm,
Its a diesel, you'll have little power until the turbo kicks in.Oil changed twice, still black (some *** wasnt changing oil regularly ?)
Engine oil in diesel cars turns black within minutes. Every diesel engine in the world does this.Car is not drivable on a rainy day due to misting, i don't care if you think its a "small" problem, it affects main function of the item - getting from a to b faster than on foot. Which is kind of a purpose to a car.
That's because the car is damp, probably because its been sat around for a while. As for expectations. I'm already 1400 down and there's still no end to spending (apparently), while 306 cost me 1500 from private seller, and no more spendi ng for three years. 1500, period. If i knew i'd waste so much TIME and money with the nissan, i'd have stumped up some more to get me a "proper" car.
Tough.I'm not having any illusions about getting a perfect car for 900 quid, but this is ridiculous. I was expecting to spend up to 500 pounds to get it up to scratch and on the road, which didnt materialize. Now thinking either returning (if possible at all) or selling at a huge loss...
You can't return. Tough. The 'problems' you describe are extremely minor.0 -
Hence at least a minimum 1hr test driveadouglasmhor wrote: »If it's unbalanced wheel you may only notice it at A road and motorway speeds and it's described by OP as vibration not wobble which is not the same IMO.0 -

I don't honestly think that we should place too much dependence on any description from the OP
Remember; " oil measure thingy " .. I am still not sure of what that actually is, I assume like others a dipstick.0 -

I have to say when I read the OP and my first thought was 'dipstick'.;);):D0 -
Or you could drive around for one hour and never encounter the conditions that cause, the misting, the wobble/vibration/shake etc.
Did the mechanic friend not even check the oil before he took it on a test drive? I would probably have noticed the dipstick missing then, and if it hasn't been replace how does OP know the oil is black? The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
