Sorry to drag up an old thread but heres one to balance the books a bit.

We were looking for a car for our son to drive. Saw a micra on gumtree which looked ok. Asked the seller the usual questions including if he was a trader and said he wasnt. Got a postcode for our sat nav and off we go for a looksee.

Long story short and the cars a shed. Had some front end work and the panel gaps are all wrong, wipers snagging the bonnet, awfull. Guy was using the "selling for a friend" tale and couldnt explain why his friend only had it for a month (despite telling us he had it for years).

Its then I notice the number plate has Matthews Motors written on it and the same postcode as hes just given us to get there. As this is in the middle of a housing estate something doesnt add up so we do the sensible thing and walk away.

The seller then goes nuts and starts calling us f**king timewasters. We pointed out who's time had actually been waisted and left.
