Please contact our customer services team on the relevant telephone number
below to discuss any of your personal details, complaints or concerns about
    your account.

Thanks for the info but I've already tried and the customer services people do not know anything about appeals.
Apparently it is a seperate department that they cannot contact.
I don't believe that for a minute but so far I haven't waited long enough to push it because they said I have to allow 5 days for letter to arrive, 2 weeks for processing and then 5 days for response.

I might push it with them after this time, if I can be bothered.
But not sure if they are my favourite organisation (and that's not sour grapes, they just don't seem to offer very good customer service).

    lisyloo,

I waited 5 weeks for my appeal (for the Transformation Card) to be 'heard'. I made several phone calls chasing it up, and some CSA's wouldn't even confirm that my appeal letter had been received or whether it was in the 'system' - for reasons of data protection they said!

Finally, on my last call, I 'demanded' a response there and then and the CSA put me on hold whilst he spoke with someone in the postal appeals dept. I was told they had received my letter and was promised a reply the next day, and also warned not to get too excited. Yes, the letter came the next day and they upheld their initial decision to decline me!!

    lisyloo,

That was what I was expecting, so I took my custom elsewhere. I calculated that on my spending 3% was better than stooze-as-you-spend on a 0% card, but not much better.

Thanks for outlining the 'appeals' process YB.

Well, have had pin for about 10 days but no card has turned up. So that card has now been cancelled by GE and another one issued with another pin.

Just have to wait for that to arrive now..........

I was accepted for the card, PIN arrived in the the same post as the card which is not ideal for security but otherwise all was OK. Decent credit limit, £4k initially and instantly increased to £6k when I called to activate (never had that happen before).

I have bought some food using the card at Sainsbury's and Asda. However when I tried to buy petrol at Adsa using the machine in the automated "Fast Lane" the card was refused with a message like "Sale Cancelled - Use Kiosk". It was far too busy to re-position my car to the kiosk, so I don't know whether it would have been accepted there. I paid on another card instead, but it cost me £1.50 in lost cashback.

Has anyone got any idea why the card was not accepted? Is this likely to be a one-off, or are there certain places where this card is not accepted.

I tried to pay at the pump at Tesco this morning and the card was refused with a message "Sale Cancelled - Use Kiosk". The kiosk was not open so I was unable to refuel. I have never had a problem with any other cards. Does anyone have any theories or remedies,
    Cheers

Stompa, like you first statement arrived this am. Disappointing they haven't itemised the cash back as impossible to check it.
Mine also shows a cashback amount that I cannot agree with any combination. I had 3 small spends to try and discover which stores would produce the 3%:
Sainsburys 11.22 so should be 3%
    Superdrug 12.89 probably .5%
    Woolworths 5.90 probably .5%
Cashback shown as 84p. More than I would have expected so will not bother to phone and check this time but will make it difficult to ensure only use at higher cashback outlets.
Will be interesting to hear what cashback others receive.

Well, I just got my first paper statement from them. The bad news is that it doesn't itemize the cashback rate for individual purchases, so you can't tell which were 3% and which were 0.5%.

I only have 3 items on my statement, and whatever combinations of 3% and 0.5% I assign to each purchase I can't get the exact figure they give. The closest I can get is by rounding up the cashback on each purchase to the nearest penny.

Oddly, the purchase of a rail ticket seems to have attracted 3% cashback.

Posts 210 and 211 on this thread (quoted above) seemed to indicate that purchases from Superdrug and Woolworths were attracting 3% cashback.

Have any other GE Money Everyday card holders discovered that they've been paid 3% cashback on purchases made at other 'non food' classified shops or non-petrol providing outlets?

Applied for a card when Martin mentioned it on this site. Got a letter with an account number on 3/6/06 . Filled & sent credit agreement next day & had not received anything when I phoned again on 21/6/06 & whilst on the phone I noticed they had missed a letter out of my surname. The guy said not to worry he would change it & I would get my card in 7 to 10 days.
Phoned 0870 126 2665 today & the recorded message asks for my credit card number. I gave them my account number but it says it is not recognised. There are no other options to hold to talk to an advisor. Apart from writing to them does anyone have any other suggestions.

But the whole point of this card is the 3% back on food and fuel!
