However to call 3% a huge bonus..... Come on! Not on the grand scheme of things, whatever ones income. This is just a game we are all playing....................

How can you dare say this if you have never been struggling to make ends meet all the time? Once a year I cash in my Tesco points, and Goldfish points to make Christmas a little easier, and to have a few treats we wouldn't normally have. Without the £30 to £50 through these points my daughter would hardly have anything for Christmas. Unless you have ever been there, don't judge!

That is not what come across. Particularly in your words "whatever one's income." £40 at Christmas can make the difference between a child getting a decent present for Christmas or their birthday, or next to nothing. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be insulting. The point of my post was to make people who see 3% as a minimal amount and maybe hardly worth bothering about, to see things in a different way. I don't need to "chill out." I get used to remarks like that from people who don't have to worry where there next pound is coming from. Usually the kind of people who never check their statements etc.:D

ASDA automatic Petrol pumps (the fast track ones) do not work with this card. This is the new kind which needs you to enter the pin number. Someone else mentioned this before but I wanted to be 100% sure and check.
Have others had this experience? If this is true of all Asdas? If so, I can't use my card at my local Asda as all the pumps are this type. There's no kiosk at all.

It seems surprising as GE is also the issuer of Asda's own cards.

I do not know about Asda but it certainly not unique to them as I have had problems at Tesco Pay@Pump with RBS cards (who also issue Tesco's own card)!

I had the same problem at the Asda pay-by-card pumps. Drove out and back in to the kiosk section and it worked fine. I wasn't going to lose out on my £1.30;)

Tried the pay-at-pump slot at Tesco yesterday (no PIN required) but the LCD said "Card invalid". Paying in the kiosk, the young man suggested that it was because I'd just used the card instore, and it was a security measure.

No big deal, but interesting that the petrol pump problem crosses store boundaries.

I think the pumps contain a list of valid card BIN numbers (the first 6 digits) and if your card is not on the list it will never be accepted!

The funniest thing I was told about the Tesco credit card being refused by the Pay@Pump machines was that they were still happy to accpet the card as a valid clubcard number even though they refused it as a valid credit card number!

A lot of people (myslef included) with excellent credit ratings have been declined this card.
We can only speculate as to why we don't fit the customer profile that GE wants.

I keep reminding myslef that credit is a privilege and none of us are automatically entitled to it, but it's annoying when you don't know why you've been declined.

I have appealed (3 weeks ago) but like many others have heard nothing.
There is no way to contact their appeals department.

It's a bit annoying but to be honest I don't think many people are expecting it to last very long.

Recently complained to GE about the appeals process delay and was sent the following reply:

With 0870 numbers for rejection queries and the amount of people they have rejected, now I see how they can afford a 3% cashback deal!

That means any savings gained in cashback will be lost by having to go somewhere more expensive for fuel. :( As I said, my local Asda is pay-at-the-pump only.
