redagila wrote:Stompa, like you first statement arrived this am. Disappointing they haven't itemised the cash back as impossible to check it.
Mine also shows a cashback amount that I cannot agree with any combination. I had 3 small spends to try and discover which stores would produce the 3%:
Sainsburys 11.22 so should be 3%
Superdrug 12.89 probably .5%
Woolworths 5.90 probably .5%
Cashback shown as 84p. More than I would have expected so will not bother to phone and check this time but will make it difficult to ensure only use at higher cashback outlets.
Will be interesting to hear what cashback others receive.
redagila - I've just had a thought. If you round down your spends above to the nearest pound, the total is £28. Now 3% of £28 is 84p.
In your case, it looks like they've rounded your purchases down to the nearest pound and paid you 3% cashback on them. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
That would make sense because I think I read somewhere in the bumph they sent that cashback is only given on whole pounds.

Silly me. Thanks Kazza242 and King of Fools - just did not think to round down to whole pounds. Interesting that Superdrug and Woolworths spends will receive 3% - widens the outlets I had expected to be able to use.0

Good thinking, that works for me too. So add Waitrose to the 3% list. Rather more surprising is Boots at 3%, and almost unbelievably 'One Railways' also at 3%!Stompa0 -

I haven't been fussed working out which places are 3% as I thought the maximum payout at 3% would be for £5000 per annum. That would be easily reached with just petrol or supermarket shopping surely. Or have I misunderstood and there is no upper threshold in which case I need to look into it more carefully?
At the mo am only using it for petrol and other cashback cards for everything else.

Errr...no...not in my house.
Not sure how much you commute and how much you (or your family eat), but my spending wouldn't be £5K.
I spend about £1K on petrol per year and £2.5K on food (for 2 of us) and some of our food comes from organic food shops and not supermarkets so may not count.
I guess if you do a big commute or have a large family then you will hit it, but I don't think everyone will (like people in London who use public transport).0 -

Not everybody buys petrol, or does big supermarket shops.Stompa0 -

That's very true. However, it does seem that GE are currently paying 3% on more than just purchases of food and petrol. The posts above seem to suggest that purchases from stores, including Superdrug, Woolworths and Boots all seem to be accruing 3% cashback. If these are being classed as 'food' stores by GE, then it could be easier to reach the £5,000 mark. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
hi all
Been away for a bit. My card took a month to come through (I applied on line) and this was after I had rang / emailed them a few times and been told my application was incomplete and I would need to re submit. I could not be bothered with that and then, when I returned from holiday I found my new card on the mat. I have not used it yet.
Sorry have not been through the whole thread but has anyone got away with 3% at IKEA (I know it is not food or petrol) but thought i would ask0 -

Indeed, all the responses so far have had the cashback being paid at 3%. Has anybody found any 0.5% ones yet?Stompa0
