bristol_pilot wrote:I have bought some food using the card at Sainsbury's and Asda. However when I tried to buy petrol at Adsa using the machine in the automated "Fast Lane" the card was refused with a message like "Sale Cancelled - Use Kiosk". It was far too busy to re-position my car to the kiosk, so I don't know whether it would have been accepted there. I paid on another card instead, but it cost me £1.50 in lost cashback.
Has anyone got any idea why the card was not accepted? Is this likely to be a one-off, or are there certain places where this card is not accepted.0 -
King_Of_Fools wrote:RBS cards (including the Tesco card!) used to always get refused at Tesco Pay@Pump but would work fine over the counter. There must be a list of acceptable card numbers and GE is not on it - the GE card would have been fine over the counter.
I have had the Tesco card for several years now and can't recall ever having it refused at Pay at the Pump. Maybe it is just a quirky electronic fault.0 -
OK...I've just had an e-mail saying my application has been successful!!
So that took 7 days, not two hours!0 -

Not too bothered though, as my OH got accepted, got a 6000 credit limit based on house hold income (only works 7 hours a week!) and I'm getting a secondary. :rotfl:0 -
Maybe they have just been snowed in with requests and have a large backlog to get through ... now if Martins newsletter goes out to 250K and even 10% apply, plus the same again as people tell friends and family ...
As a person who has managed to get one of these can I ask you all to be patient please ... I don't want you all clogging up my customer service desk
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -

The best bit was that the last time my Mint card refused to work at the Pay@Pump but worked fine over the counter I was at the Tesco in Southend which is right next door to the RBS card headquaters!0 -
I didn't send a copy of my credit report and someone earlier said they will not enter correspondence without it.
It didn't say anything about this in the rejection letter.
The person that said this got a recorded message on the phone about the leaflet "in store" so I think this refers to store cards that GE provide. As a person who has managed to get one of these can I ask you all to be patient please ...
We are being patient but some people have been waiting over a month.
It's tricky when that happens because you don't know whether they have even received the letter or it's been lost in the post.
I agree that they have a backlog.
I was just wondering whether ANYONE had a reply.
They told me I'd get something in 5-7 days on 16th June, but I think that was a standard reply so I'm not getting my hopes up.0 -
Well, I just got my first paper statement from them. The bad news is that it doesn't itemize the cashback rate for individual purchases, so you can't tell which were 3% and which were 0.5%.
I only have 3 items on my statement, and whatever combinations of 3% and 0.5% I assign to each purchase I can't get the exact figure they give. The closest I can get is by rounding up the cashback on each purchase to the nearest penny.
Oddly, the purchase of a rail ticket seems to have attracted 3% cashback.
The statement mentions that the full payment will be collected by DD, but reading through some of the other posts I got the impression that some people had had written confirmation that their DD had been set up (which I've not had), is that the case?Stompa0 -
Stompa, like you first statement arrived this am. Disappointing they haven't itemised the cash back as impossible to check it.
Mine also shows a cashback amount that I cannot agree with any combination. I had 3 small spends to try and discover which stores would produce the 3%:
Sainsburys 11.22 so should be 3%
Superdrug 12.89 probably .5%
Woolworths 5.90 probably .5%
Cashback shown as 84p. More than I would have expected so will not bother to phone and check this time but will make it difficult to ensure only use at higher cashback outlets.
Will be interesting to hear what cashback others receive.0 -
