Filled & sent credit agreement next day & had not received anything when I phoned again on 21/6/06 & whilst on the phone I noticed they had missed a letter out of my surname. The guy said not to worry he would change it & I would get my card in 7 to 10 days.
Phoned 0870 126 2665 today & the recorded message asks for my credit card number. I gave them my account number but it says it is not recognised. There are no other options to hold to talk to an advisor. Apart from writing to them does anyone have any other suggestions.
Hi, a couple of weeks ago I found myself in a similar situation to the one you're in. I had completed and returned the credit agreement and then heard nothing for 2 weeks. When I called them, they said they had not received the credit agreement and would send me another one. When that didn't arrive, I e-mailed them at: yourquestions@ge.com.
I had retained the letter that accompanied the credit agreement so was able to quote my GE account number in the e-mail. Following my e-mail, GE found my signed credit agreement and I received my card and PIN within the next 7 days. I think e-mailing them at the address above is the best course of action. It worked for me.Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Thanks Kazza I`ll try that.Cheers.0

In my egg statement, both petrol and car parking are classified as "travel - on the road". So is garage service.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I just posted this in the Best Cashback thread - perhaps I should have posted it here instead. Sorry for double posting
I got the GE Money card, too, and am surprised that others have posted about it being 'cherry picking', either for people of very good credit or who don't pay in full but have a good credit rating.
My credit has been very poor but I've been able to pay back previous cards (good ole Cap 1 and other 'starter' cards) in full since about 2002. I had been rejected for a Morgan Stanley about then, but reapplied in 2005 and they gave me a £6700 limit and, of course, the cashback.
I decided to apply for the GE card as I spend most of my money (not counting mortgage and utilities) on food/fuel, and was accepted within 30 minutes of my online app. I'm now using it instead of the Morgan Stanley.
What's confusing is that so many others have been refused when they've posted credit histories FAR better than mine. I pay in full every month so they won't make money from me that way, but is that visible in a credit check? My recent prints from Experian show my balance with Morgan Stanley as around £1200. Perhaps they see that as a running balance and not as paid off every month?
This probably doesn't help those people here who have been refused a GE card, but I thought it useful to post my experience.

Contacted them again about my appeal. I am not on their records and she advises me to phone Experian and talk to them.0

Now that the banks have got people hooked with the freebie offers they are looking to profit from those that have now overspent and can not afford to pay back ... good marketing strategy ... some will be able to pay back but many will have stretched themselves too far and the credit companies are about to reap the rewards of what they sow.
This would not surprise me one bit. Balance Transfer fees are just such a system. 3% is only worth it if your alternative is a big whopping APR (or you dont mind making a pittance from stoozing).
GE specifically seem to have a system which us MSE'ers are not used to and it has caught a few of us out. I feel they are picking for profitability in some way rather than what we think of as 'best customers'.0 -

Yep, I got into this game far too late it would seem. Oh well, eyes peeled.0
