Widows Parents Allowance needs re-evaluating for those who have been left with no life policies and NI contributions have not been met0

Make students/landlords pay council tax. Also make those councils who have highly paid employees doing pointless jobs end these jobs instead of essential employees. Such jobs as in charge of nuclear deployment have little effect on the populace but more respite for carers has greater "value added" to use a political term!0

All bank statements, whether paper or online, should automatically clearly display the prevailing AER for the individual account.
Currently there is a cynical compliance where ascertaining the interest rate entails :
- knowing the precise name and 'edition' of the account,
- knowing whether or not it (still) qualifies for a bonus payment,
- often knowing one of several numbers (account no. roll no etc)
- being prepared to spend several minutes flicking pages or clicking a mouse to try and find your particular account.
All this shows a total disdain for the customer as the computer that produces the page (whether paper or web based) knows precisely what rate you are receiving0 -
Ensure that all landlords are checked out thoroughly before housing benefit is paid to them. National Insurance numbers, birth certificates and marriage certificates should all be linked centrally therefore avoiding families renting out houses to family members, and using HB to finance another property.0

Make many state benefits, especially child benefit, taxable.
Child benefit is paid to mothers, therefore most stay-at-home mums would not be affected, nor would families below the tax threshhold be penalised.0 -
The one thing i'd like to see changed are the grey areas in Child tax/work fam tax. I'm a carer and get a (taxable) pittance for looking after my 3 disabled children, my husband is self-employed so we get the above however we'd be much better off if my husband signed on, sad but true. What i don't understand is how we can have free eye tests and prescriptions but not free school meals/milk or cold weather payments or grants? Reform is a must!0

To make your money back on solar panels takes 10 years. This puts me off, So subsidise them and when moving get 10% pro rata of your costs back from government if < than 10 years0

Stop wasting more money on work schemes for unemployed young people and simply stop their benefits. You will be surprised at how quickly they find a job. Also stop child and other benefits for unmarried mothers, including free housing. You will be surprised again at how quickly the illegitimate birth rate drops.0

All government services ie NHS,MOD, Councils etc should be made to use thier own bank staff for temporary positions before using costly private employment agencies. Managers use employment agencies too readily because they can't be bothered to look, each area should set up a bank of staff especially for administrative duties. I have temped many times for NHS and Council and am amazed at the level of private information I get access to with no CRB checks, also the amount of time I am employed for must cost a fortune in agency fees.0

Monitor the theft from hospitals etc. more carefully. So much theft by staff is happening that the costs for supplies are more than double what they should be.0
