Has anyone noticed that if you get a non-standard mail delivery (such as a birthday or christmas card), the Post Office charges you. If you're not at home when it is delivered, they take it back to the depot and you have to pay for re-delivery or collect it yourself. Is it beyond the wit of the Post Office to communicate this to its customers when they post their mail? Or is it yet another rip-off.

Require banks and building societies to give account holders 7 days notice (by email, text or letter as the customer chooses) when a bonus savings rate is about to expire. The notice should also provide details, or a link to details, of the institution's best rate equivalent account.
  • Introduce a new 30% tax band so that tax avoiders won't try so hard to find loopholes to avoid a huge jump in income tax rate. From 20% to 40% is a 100% increase, so make any increase more palatable to encourage people to cross each threshold more willingly.
  • Paying out £24.25 each month for the 1st 6 months, for a pensioner like me, before I have even watched any programs is unacceptable.

Make the Monthly DD for TV Licences fare to all, i.e. divide £145.50 by 12 = £12.12 and charge that per month. That's far more reasonable for we lesser mortals on low incomes.
  • Self-employed earners avoid too much tax through paying selves bonuses/dividends through company and paying much les tax, even when sole enterprise. many other perks through low wage manipulation e.g. free uni etc. tackle inequality!
  • Stop businesses from charging customers to pay for goods/services (when they pay online by methods dictated by them) i.e. only specified cards can be used to pay for their goods/services and then charging them to pay!!! All transaction "fees" should be covered in the selling price up front.

Which company is it that charges a cash fee, a cheque fee, a debit card fee and a credit card fee?

Probably RyanAir, but basically it's impossible to get the advertised price, even if you take no luggage and don't use the onboard toilet.

On that note unavoidable "booking fees" when the company isn't even using an external company like TicketMaster. Odeon do this and again it feels like false advertising since basically you can't get the advertised price. Same when you can't avoid using the external company as is the case with many concerts.
  • All Xmas cards must by "Charity" cards. In fact, all sundries associated with / sold in the name of "Christmas" (i.e. cards, wrapping paper etc) should be subject to a specified minimum contribution to charity by law. It would be easy to implement, and perhaps restore some of the real meaning of Xmas! Whilst we are at it, ensure all cards should also be manufactured from recycled materials only.

Make Insurance Key Facts documents easier to compare by having a standard format with main policy features & Excesses listed in a table and an additional cover / exclusions text box populated by the provider.

Defaqto succssfully compare hundreds of policies easily and this would avoid nasty surprises and make key facts documents useable.
  • To avoid the need for M.P.'s to spend so much time away from their constituencies. Install secure electronic conferencing and voting facilities in M.P.'s homes. This would be more efficient & save Millions of ££££
