Make ALL tax avoidance schemes illegal.
There is no such thing as 'tax avoidance' only 'tax compliance' either you pay your taxes within the law or you do not! There is no in-between. What needs changing is the tax law itself but HMRC loves the wording to be ambiguous as that way it can maximise it's collections by applying the rules unfairly.

• Ensure the Rail Regulator is much more assertive and stands up to the rail companies. Raise the Late Trains Performance threshold to 90%. Ensure that main line trains aren’t allowed to use high density seating. Ensure it’s easier to claim for late trains, allowing Season Ticket holders to claim too.
• All Utility and Mobile companies be forced to put annual (or annual projections if less than 1 year) consumptions for ease of comparison. Especially Gas/Electricity Companies, as the multitude are unduly difficult to accurately compare. Ensure that Ofgem works for the consumer and simplifies deals for simple comparisons.
• Stop money leaving this country . People working here from abroad and sending money home to be spent in country from where they are from
• Why not let the market actually set house prices? Unblock supply by releasing masses more land for innovative developments like the Cotswold Water Park or Center Parcs-style woodland chalets. Restrict ownership to housing associations/owner occupiers to stop speculators. Result? Cheaper housing for all - including under 30s - and more disposable income.
• all companies should have to show the regional phone number, instead most hide behind some sort of premium number which most people can't get for free, we shouldn't have to pay companies to ring them and sit on hold.
• Abolish the law on sunday trading hours; retailers would increase profits and therefore tax revenue which could plug the hole in the deficit within a year.
• Re-instate the £32,000 discount (currently £16,000) as an incentive for those in social housing to purchase their homes to stimulate the housing market.

Force all registered companies to put the address and telephone number of their "active" headquarters on all their business stationery. (I regularly receive correspondence from banks and other businesses which shows only a registered office, but no business headquarters or contactable phone details.
• Electro-mechanical Strowger telephone switchgear is gone. But we still get charged for connection. Also the first minute is always charged. If you get an answering machine and don’t want to leave a message, that’s 10p wasted. Give us a chance to back out of the call.
