Those people who want a Royal family and all their hangers on namely the 'Civil List' should pay for it in an increased tax code and those people who don't, shouldn't. Let's face it the Royal family are the biggest state benefit scroungers.

The FSCS guarantee is difficult to trace because of holding companies and confusingly different product names. When you open a bank account, and on every statement thereafter, and if the business is transferred, the bank should print the FSA registration number of the body that holds the savings.
  • It is often very difficult to know what interest rate is being applied to your ISA or Savings Account. This suits the banks but does nothing for the customer. It should be mandatory for all on-line accounts to show the current interest rate being applied.
  • To promote saving, competition and get working capital for projects back in circulation, the Government should set up or backup one of the nationalised banks, to run a bank for private savers with a guaranteed return of say 5% for one year - the money would role in
  • Why can't the politicians understand that the reason banks are back in profit is the high interest charges asked for debt but the low interest charges given for saving? Enforce a reasonable ISA saving rate by law

No problem with that - but then let only those with their higher tax codes share the income handed over by the royals in exchange for the civil list - much much more, year after year than what we pay them.
  • If you are self-employed and travel many thousands of miles a year, you will know that the mileage allowance [40p and 25p] has not increased for many years! The rising price of fuel and other running costs are making self-employment more difficult at a time when the country need as many self-employed, self-motivated people as possible. It's time to raise the allowance to 60p and 35p]
  • Tackle excessive interest rates

Reduce exploitation of povery - Restrict the right to charge interest over 30% per annum. Require registration via the FSA and no-one with a criminal record allowed. A mandatory code of practice requiring the annual rate of interest and details of indepedent advisors (C.A.B or similar) to be prominently displayed.
  • The standard mileage rate for employees using their private car for business travel is currently 40 pence per mile and has been for a great number of years. Motoring costs & fuel in particular has soared but the rate has stayed the same. Increase it now!!
  • Banks. FREE BASIC BANK ACCOUNTS to everyone....sons cant get accounts because of contract phone problems + a 50% small loan rate!
Stop all Civil Service Final Salary Pensions NOW. That's a MASSIVE and 'Just' saving.
Link Petrol security cameras to DVLA to capture unregistered drivers/cars.
Councils. A business that cut services 1st instead of jobs would soon be out of business.
