Holiday companies should be prevented from hiking prices during school holidays. It is unfair to parents, also to staff who work in schools who are very poorly paid [NOT teachers]. Maybe pupils would not be taken out of school for family holidays if costs were evened out over the year.

Credit Card companies should include clear details of how payments may be made.

Rational; many folk still use cheques for payment, but these will not be available in future. Folk who do not use internet banking may be forced to use a fee paying service at another Bank in order to make payment, such information is often impossible to obtain without actually singing up for a card.

Make MPs submit an additional P11D tax return to HMRC to cover every penny of expenses they claim for - I have to as a Director of my own Company, spending my own money. That’ll make ‘em think twice before making questionable claims!

Since we all have to tighten our belts, it is about time that religious organisations contribute.
As a reminder, the annual income and assets of the Anglican church in England and Wales is about £6.5 billions, that of the catholic church about £1.3 billion, that of Islam just under £2 billions, and that of Judaism about £215 millions.
This is a partial total of about £10 billions: I understand that for the Anglican church, all consecrated ground (thousands of churches including the cathedrals) are exempt. I assume that the Anglican church as well as all the other religions may have other of exemptions such as this one, which should urgently be reviewed.

All deposit takers/Lenders should be compelled to tell customers what current interest rate is being paid/charged on an account balance alongside and simultaneously every time they give balance information, whether this is on-line or on paper. Currently too much effort is required to determine the interest rate.

Due to a supply shortfall we all pay fortunes for services of plumbers, electricians and joiners. Skills in these fields are also disappearing.
Many experts are ageing and would love to pass on their skills to youngsters. Why not pay these experts to train the youngsters, protect the skills, and save us all money.

If you pre-pay for the London Congestion charge, you can only do so for a specific day; if circumstances prevent you from making the journey (bad weather, student riots etc.), the charge is non-refundable. This is just plain fraud - charging for a service that has not been supplied. Pre-paid charges should be for any day until used up - very simple, unless you are TFL of course.

Make switching a lot cheaper. A new quote should not cause the old supplier to demand large payment for fuel usage, therefore reducing saving. Should be more transparent.

Split Sky TV into two separate companies: one providing the satellite TV infrastructure (basically the satellites themselves), and one providing satellite TV services (ie from whom the consumer buys his satellite TV package). This will enable a competitive market instead of the extant monopoly.

Why not just ban non-UK companies from having involvement with any of our media?

Trouble is they are all earning too much plumbing and electricianing etc to be interested. Anyway didn't this used to be called apprenticeship and wasn't that scuppered by minimum wage rules?
