  • Landlords should be able to persue a criminal case against tenants who deliberately maliciously damage property and dont pay rent, at the moment it can take 5-6 months for possession proceedings, and very little chance of claiming for damages, if it were a hotel it would be criminal
  • Tax credits should not be sent to addresses in Europe (ie East Europeans). There is no method for checking the financial status of the family as a total and many are not eligible!!

  • When buying a house it can be costly with survey fees etc and the seller could still pull out of the deal. Once an offer is made (after a survey) and accepted it should become legally binding on both parties. It will stop gazumping.
  • Financial institutions should not be allowed to offer attractive "bonus" interest rates to new customers which are not available to existing customers. Loyalty should be cherished and rewarded.
  • Credit card companies apply punitive interest rate increases on outstanding balances to close the accounts of those it no longer deems desirable. If the account is to close, then spending should be disallowed so that the balance can be repaid at the original rate. This allows the borrower the opportunity to repay in a reasonable time and thus improve their credit rating.
  • Originally, savers deposited their money with banks, who loaned it to others, & made investments to make profits. These profits were shared between the banks & their depositors. Banks now rarely loan money in any meaningful way, so instead they make profits by levying record charges on account holders. At the same time they pay record low returns to depositors. Please return to the traditional way of business.

People with pay-monthly contract phones aim to select the optimum tariff to match their typical monthly usage, yet this can sometimes be way out (e.g. leftover minutes or insufficient texts). This is either costly or a waste. Mobile phone providers should bill based on a floating tariff set retrospectively.

If I want to use the post office counter for any reason, I have to first take out the cash via ATM/counter cash back elsewhere.

I would like Santander to join forces with the Post Office to allow others like me to use 'their' ATM service to avoid further inconvenience.

Bank charges for going overdrawn are excessive and should at most be a (capped) percentage of the amount by which customers have gone over their limit, calculated at the end of that month. NOT a large flat rate fee which is often more than the amount people go over their limits by.
