If you lose your drivers license you must be made to resit an appropriate driving test/examination to get their license back.
Newly qualified who pick up points in their first year should be made to resit their drivering test/examination.0 -
Some years ago the then chancellor adjusted fuel duty so there would be no difference between the cost of Unleaded fuel and Diesel. This has long since disappeared. In theory Diesel should cost LESS than unleaded as it needs much less refining so how about restoring the status quo at least and have sellers forced to sell both at the same price? Then we should look to REDUCE diesel as on the continent to help the struggling road hauliers without whom we couldn't survive!0

None of us should be subjected to another form of what might be termed "legalised extortion". The "TV licence-fee" is a prime example of this. Long ago it could be justified as the BBC had no way to earn its upkeep, however this has long ceased to be a valid argument.
The BBC became a revenue-earning business many years ago but naturally did not want to give up the endless supply of free money. This extra "tax" on the consumer used to be obtained by very heavy-handed means which many people felt was tantamount to extortion, although they have modified the process to spin it into something which looks more respectable, the fat remains that it is entirely un-necessary.
Why stop with the BBC? Perhaps the battered tax-payer should be forced to donate an annual £5Bn to say, Richard Branson, or maybe Carphone Warehouse. Why single out the BBC for this special bonus. The way they disburse this treasure-trove shows complet contempt for the tax-payer.
Would most people wish to pay salaries of £16 million p/a to people who are basically disc-jockeys and clowns? Even the BBC management recognise that they are operating at an industrial level now by insisting that they are paid at levels like the banks and other big commercial enterprises.
If the BBC can prove that it cannot produce enough revenue from sales of material, then let them find another method like the proposed charges for overseas subscribers or even, yes, advertising like the other TV channels have been obliged to do for decades.0 -
Local Authority low income maintenance grants could be recovered upon transfer or sale of the dwelling simply by placing a legal charge upon the property.
This will perhaps help to minimise abuse of the system and provide L.A's with additional income0 -
Ban Xenon car headlights (blue white light) - they're a hazzard to oncoming traffic.0

Please make improvements to the process of notifying customers of changing interest rates (savings accounts and ISAs).
With a baffling array of similarly named accounts, special offers, and having to know whether your account is 'closed', keeping track of your rates is over-complicated. Emailled or posted notifications should be obligatory. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Stop over taxing the hard working middle man! Folk on even low rate benefits can work the system to the maximum advantage, but earn as little as £50 per year more and you can loose thousands. For example a person earning £16,100 doesn't get free school meals or uniform allowance. They don't qualify for grants towards energy saving measures such as a new boiler and may not benefit from council tax allowance. They may also have to pay tax and have child tax credits reduced. It doesn't make sense to work hard!0

Toxocariasis a disease claimed to come from dog fouling can also be caught from cat fouling and the handling of cats. Children play with soil/sand in the garden, where cats unknowingly foul, and also from litter trays. It's time the govermnent also linked this disease with cat fouling and create health warning TV / press adverts.0

There has been far too much legislation in the last decade. For this parliament insist that for every new law passed, two are rescinded.0

Should be a minimum cooling off period when buying mobile contracts instore. Currently only get one if you take out contracts online, for shop sales it's not compulsory - some companies don't take back phones which prove unsuitable for user, even if returned same day. Bad practise considering how expensive contracts can be, e.g. £30 or more for 24 months.
Also I think many contract lengths are too long - may be problem if someone's income or circumstances change for the worse near start of a contract.0
