This is not a rant about pensions as such (another time for that one) but to the administration of it. All my working life (some 50+ years) I've been paid monthly, i.e. on a set date every month which admittedly has been on different dates when working for different companies, but now I get my pension I get paid every four weeks instead of per calendar month which is a nightmare to organise payments such as mortgage and other payments. Why are we stuck in this dopey 13 month payment scheme? The government wants us to be paid into our bank accounts and not collect it weekly and they operate this mad scheme.
Also while ranting why do we pay for our community tax for ten months of the year and not twelve like other facilities such as gas and electric.

This is a rider to an earlier post where the comment was made that at present it is legal for them to do this within 90 days. This is not acceptable, if the consumer has signed-up for a certain price then that should be legally binding for the duration of the contract, usually a year
I believe.0 -
Please reinstate the 20% ECT Tax to our ISA's and pensions which Mr Brown/Labour took and is ruining these investments and will continue more so in the future. It started off by taking £5bn pounds per yr that figure within the pension industry will grow & grow making our pensions and isa's worthless.0

Can we please see and end to doctors surgery catchment areas.
You should be able to register with any doctor within your locality/work, and not set by defined boundaries which can exclude you if you are 5 yards over the boundary.0 -
Abolish the demand for sewerage bills etc every single time you use solicitors, open a bank account, etc. It marginalises those that don't have these papers. Compared to trusting professionals’ own judgement, it makes identity theft easier, as is seen by the rise in this crime since this was introduced.0

UK academic research is almost entirely publicly funded with little incentive for individuals or businesses to contibute directly. Enable academic institutions to sell shares in the intellectual property produced by specific research projects. This would fund more research and encourage direct private sector participation._______________________

Many people do not complain, because even if they win, it may have taken them a lot of unpaid time to fight their case.
It needs to be law that when someone complains, they are well-reimbursed for their time; after all, they were in effect acting as a kind of lawyer for themselves - and their success paves the way for fairer treatment for the rest of us.
I would suggest a rate of £25 per hour for a sensible number of hours.0 -
End VAT / Tax on the equipment that Mountain Rescue charities need to acquire to save lives.0

I agree. It is up to people to refuse to use these "services".
What is particularly infuriating is that during the music, there are clicks as though someone is going to answer and then a recorded voice tells you a downright lie: "Your call is important to us". If it was, the company would have provided a line into an office with someone knowledgeable about the product or service, or at least a human telephonist.0 -

All Cycling/Running etc (things that make us healthier) should be Zero rated. I am sure peoiple can think of more.
"ladies" products should be VAT freeseize today and put as little trust as you can in the morrow.0
