  • That is extremely dodgy - do you have to give you name though? - can't you just find out your rights? maybe a few half hour with a solicitor will help? It's not right to be in that situation :(

  • She sounds horrible - and making everyone live in fear as well.:mad: to be honest you might be entitled to some form of compensation if she has been stopping your wages illegally. She sounds such a bully - I really hope you can get things sorted.
Could you club together with some of the others from work - and support each other - don't tell the boss obviously but maybe you can all help each other - until you have a plan sorted?

they are all too scared of her & mainly a lot younger than me, some have been there being treated like this for years! also difficult to know who to speak too, because although they all complain about her I know there are a few back stabbers

  • she is really sneaky too, we went on a course on a saturday a few months ago, we were told by the trainer that we would get paid £30 as there was funding available, the owner told us we had to have £30 stopped from our wages due to broken toys, so she just wouldnt pay us for the course so in reality she wasnt stopping anything so i assume covering her back!

  • I just didnt want my dmp to go on any longer than the ten years! our debt is £49k (and has gone up slightly due to interest & charges) and we only pay £411 now. I read on here about people who pay a lot more than that for a lot less debt, rarely anyone whose dmp will last as long as ours & feel like I am going to be stuck with this debt for ever!!

Just to let you know that I owe £68k and pay £504, so they will allow you to pay less if you just can't afford it.

    Good luck

your job sounds truly awful and I worry that the children cannot be properly looked after if staff are working such long hours. Ofsted will do spot checks if someone complains, you could always pm the name and place of your nursery and I will do it for you, however this wont really help your situation. could you go on benefite while you look for a new job as if you made a complaint to her she would undoubtedly sack you and although you wouldnt have the pay you are getting now you might get something from a tribunal and benefits while you were looking for the new job. Have you talked to CCCS yet? please do as your situation is clearly making you unhappy and can probably be sorted out fairly easily.
  • It may also be worth having a chat with the school - they often have hardship funds that help out with things like school trips. Even if they dont I'm sure they would agree to taking regular weekly payments until the amount owed is paid in full.
Having been in similar situations with my ex-hubby - I was offered assistance in this way and paid them back - as well as volunteered for school fetes etc as a helper - they always need help -even if you just read with the children.
Chin up - it does get better!!

sorry to hear what you're going through, i'm not sure if it's been said but if you get paid late usually your employer will refund bank charges incurred. Any chance you can go to payroll with proof of the charge and stand there 'talking reasonably' until you get it refunded?
    good luck

    hi icecube

just wanted to let you know you are not alone with this!

our dmp is a low start one - £315 towards a £70k debt. shocking i know but apart from going bankrupt - (which is not an option as i work for a bank & would get the sack!!) what else can i do.

we were always going to increase our dmp every 6 months as we get pay increases and bonuses - BUT my hubby was made redundant 5 weeks ago and is still looking for another job which will hopefully equal his pay before.

at the mo we are taking a small wage form his redundancy - claiming job seekers & relying on the mortgage & loan ppi - which frankly has been a godsend.

my DFD is 11 years - i can't think about it like that otherwise i'll curl up in a little ball and never come out of it!!

just wanted to share this and so you can see that you are most def not alone in this situation.

    xx
    Massive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)

will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.

    DFD 9 years away......................
