Cheap Parcel Delivery Official Discussion

Anyone got a cheap solution for a book just over 2kg please. Who was the numpty who didn't realise that she'd put free p&p on. Nearly fell over when told RM would be £7 something.

Hi everyone,

First of all a big sorry from the Parcelmonkey team to all those who have tried to use our service today.

We have had a number of issues that needed correcting and a decision was made to shut the site in the early hours of today and put them right.
Without going into too much detail we thought we may encouter problems so the loss of todays business was factored in and the reason why today was chosen.

At this stage some of the problems remain and as you can imagine our IT team have encountered more Gremlins so a switch on time can't be given at this stage.

I will keep this forum updated over the Easter weekend but for now I would like to wish all users of Parcelmonkey, both past and present, a very happy Easter.

cheapest i know for just over 2kg is www.myhermes.co.uk

Be careful with this if you stated RM in your listing and then send by courier you could annoy some buyers. I know a lot of buyers who avoid listings with couriers as they know if they are at work or out they are able to pick the item up from the post office. Its not always this simple with couriers.

If you didn't state RM in the listing no one can complain

most sites just keep you updated via the homepage
a site i 'work' on,we use facebook and have a link on the homepage to provide live updates/'support' chat

I had booked a parcel collection thru your website for today. It hasnt been collected. After 45 mins on the phone i finally managed to get thru to CityLink who said they tried to collect but no-one was in.
There has been someone here all day plus we have cctv footage showing no-one called at the time they say they did. They never even left a card.
They said i would have to rebook it thru your site, which i obviously cant at the moment, but surely i would be charged again?
They then said i would have to make a complaint thru your site, which again i cant at the mo.
I wont be able to get this parcel picked up now until Tuesday because of the Bank holiday weekend :mad:

It's free p&p so he can hardly complain. I don't even know how I managed to do that as I don't offer free p&p.

Sorry to read your post. If you give me an order number or username once the site is live agian I will forward all details to our account Manager at City Link and our own team.

As you say with the Bank holiday weekend nothing can be done before Tuesday though. They should always leave a card and photo the door if no one answers so I will see what I can find out.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The order number is PM_198657_272152 and the consignment number MBG56694.
I have tracked it on the City Link website but it just says Collection Scheduled, no mention of a failed collection.
Also i have managed to log on to the Parcel Monkey website this morning but this order is missing from my account.
