if it is for someone I know, I would definitely be using collect plus, but seeing as though not many buyers want to travel to a participating store, its not worth taking a battering to the DSR's as some are likely to batter them even though they have the item just to get some revenge for......walking of all things :D

How many buyers have you asked, out of my last 7 sales 5 went with Collect+ as they did not want to wait in all day, i gave them the choice.

I think that offering choice is good. I would be wary about using it for the troublesome ones (and you generally get a feeling for who they are going to be) that you know have pressed the "buy" button and instantly regretted it, and then try and use the "I never received it" line to get themselves a refund.

But I guess I'm maybe just getting a bit cynical.

some buyers will use this as a way to scam sellers tbh. Also myhermes is relatively cheap, but I think the downside is that they leave parcels on doorsteps? Thats fine, if its not worth much

I'm a Hermes courier, I don't deliver parcels to doorsteps and always try to get signatures. I trip over parcels left by other companies amazed they can get away with it. I couldn't say that none of the Hermes couriers dump their parcels but if they do, they wouldn't be employed for long.

Hermes main problem is not having a customer collection depot and in fairness some buyers are unaware of this when they order/buy from Ebay, they know they won't be home but think they can collect from a depot.

I have an Ebay parcel I've been trying to deliver for 4 days, in fact I've had to text and chase the customer, even arranged to call at 10.30am this morning, I was there but he was not. The customer has asked me to leave outside an apartment block and he'll take responsibility if it goes missing(mmm). Very sorry for the Ebay seller here.
  • hey everybody

why not try myhermes.co.uk, collected from the door by courier and delivered to its destination by courier, I found it a brilliant service.

I have used Interparcel, very successfully several times and would recommend the service. Parcels are picked up from home and delivered on time to the address given. They use a number of couriers and they quote different prices depending on which one you choose to use. Even the cheaper ones on their list have been good.
