Cheap Parcel Delivery Official Discussion

hi cyberbob, i tried myhermes a couple of months ago and they made a real meal of my first collection, so much so that i cancelled the order and gave them a wide berth.
however, in light of postal strikes i though i would give them another go and so far so good. they gave me a 20% off voucher for my first order and sure enough, parcel delivered in 3-4 days. i like the idea of them taking a proactive approach to leaving parcels even if the customer is out however i guess it depends on what you are selling.
give them a try and see how you get on.0 -

I can't see if it I MUST use a DHL packaging box for items - does anyone know?
If you use Staples, do you have to stand there in their store and pack the item up there and then in the box they supply? I can't see that they would let you take the box away to pack it? So you have to take in all the bubblewrap, polystyrene bits etc?? Could make a nasty mess in their nice store, surely?0 -

Collect+ have now dropped there rates to £3.79 up to 10kg0

For people that work full time, I think that the collect+ thing is absolutely great. I used to have a post office/village store and used to take in about half of the villlages deliveries every day!!! Bybox were looking into something similar, using secure lockers at places like Tesco's and Asdas. I wonder how they're progressing with that, it's all been very quite for about a year.0

Anyone considering using collect plus if its an ebay sale. If you don't send the item to the paypal address as a seller you will not be covered if the buyer claims non receipt as it will not have gone to the listed address so you will be forced to refund0

Im not considering collect plus for an eBay sale as the buyer has to collect the item. For me, I wouldnt mind, however some buyers want something straight to their door, not to go their nearest store. Thats the main reason that Id choose myhermes over collectplus0

Also you have to remember that ebay DSR's make you responsible til the point that the customer gets the item, not till you post it, or till it arrives at the collection point. Therefore if customer never goes to collect it will be your DSRs that get the hammering.0

Why does everyone think its all to do with Ebay, with xmas coming up and postal strikes its ideal to send pressies with Collect+0
