Hi Rich130867,
I see the time of 08:47 today for the shipments being stopped but will need to pass this over to the IT team to find out why this happened or who made it happen. I will get back to you though.Did you try our live chat for help or advice? This is open during the working day and should make most issues much quicker to resolve.I am not based in our call centre so don't know the details regarding the phone number. In terms of advertising our business on the labels printed can you really blame us and in our shoes would you not do the same?I will look into the business user option for you.We pay compensation if we make mistakes and if our courier companies do then we claim from them and pay the customer. Others who have posted on this forum may wish to confirm this for you and your case will be looked into and I will get back to you when I know more.0 -
Hi, I haven't read through the whole thread but I was wondering if anyone can help. I am selling alot of my clothes on Ebay and thought to get more bidders I would sell international. Having read the guide to selling abroad on Ebay I know I am going to need to be able to track it/obtain signature to ensure it reaches its destination. Small tops or trousers probably aren't going to be over 500g so I'll probably just use Royal Mail as I imagine these will the the cheapest, however I have a couple of coats and shoes that will probably be over 500g, but no item that weighs more than about 2kg. Am I still better sticking with Royal Mail for this or any other recommendations that I can use that I will be able to track my parcel?
Also, am I missing anything else?
Thanks

i am going ot be honest and say i would consider carefully selling clothes abroad
RM dont offer fully tracked services abroad and going over threads here it seems clothes are often a problem for sellers/buyers
obviously if its expensive gear then the price may make it worthwhile0 -

For under 2kg and goods values less than £40 i have never found anything cheaper than royal mail airmail signed for. The signed for and tracking isnt perfect but as you should be able to claim back the goods value from Royal mail if it goes missing this isnt too much of a concern and i would not think clothes would be something that attracts dodgy buyers. If of course these are £1000 designer label dresses then ignore what i say and spend a bit more and get something with proper tracking.0 -

Thanks for this - Isn't the RM 'Airsure' able to be tracked? Might be a bad idea you think?0 -

Thanks, no nothing anywhere near £1000  I'll probably just try with a couple of items and see how I get on from there. There may not be any interest so it'll just be good to see if it attracts a few more buyers.0 -

Custardy is the expert here but i will say the countries that Airsure is available to is quite limited - not Italy for instance and the electronic RM tracking is only in the UK then you rely on the electronic tracking of the country that it goes to to take over and there can be interface problems at this point.
If it is low value then give it a spin - lifes full of risks! It might make your UK bidders pay more if there is more competition from abroad.0 -

it 'can' be tracked.if the receiving postal service obtains a signature and passes that data to royal mail
for RM's side, they will state it was tracked as leaving the country so they did all they can do0 -

I am not based in our call centre so don't know the details regarding the phone number. As I have said though the "Live chat" form of contact is the most used method since we have launched it and is free.
In terms of advertising our business on the labels printed can you really blame us and in our shoes would you not do the same?
We want your parcel to arrive on time with no issues and have a success rate of 98.5% so as you can imagine we want people to see who provided the booking service so they may also use us.
I will look into the business user option for you.
1-2 kg market is massive as you say but difficult to beat the Royal Mail. This is not on our list of future projects currently.
We are working on projects with our couriers to cover slot times etc but as you must understand this could be a big problem for us if you have an hour slot and the driver is 5 minutes late. Watch this space is all I can say at the moment.
We pay compensation if we make mistakes and if our courier companies do then we claim from them and pay the customer. Others who have posted on this forum may wish to confirm this for you and your case will be looked into and I will get back to you when I know more.
I hope this helps for now and thanks for your custom.
