I thought I may see PM having a £5.99(ex VAT) service as well, but maybe not. Their "new year" offer is still there for some strange reason

Oh, and I had a collection by parcelforce today via PB. It doesnt bother me as
    a) I dont get a b********g from my post lady(nah shes a nice person) and
    b) There are pf(or RM) depots all over, so its easier for buyers to pick the items up if they want to
    c) Its still a 24 hour service

Although RM have shut down some PO's, they still have more depots than others(I think)-especially in towns and large villages
I know Id prefer delivery by either PF, RM or DHL(HDNL now I think) as I can just go down to the depot to pick the items up rather than wait in again the following day.

I did some googling on "delivery £5.99" and I found this company:http://www.e-parcels.com/599-courier-service/

I dont know if anyone's used them or anything, but they may be a viable competitor, if they can offer £100 compensation instead of £50

Ive not made an account with them, so it may be that you need to regularly(like 35 a week or so) send out parcels to get that service
  • thats interesting, i think i stumbled across their site some time ago however the other side of their site is targeted at traditional mail. I'm sure that £5.99 is subject to vat, with it being with DHL I can imagine there will be either a collection surcharge or a minimum number of parcels per collection.

i used to use saletrack who were DHL until they implemented a ridiculous collection charge which they claimed was a 'eco surcharge' to encourage the shipping of more parcels per collection. Shame they never consulted DHL on their eco-credentials especially when i might have 3 different DHL drivers collecting or dropping off on any day. Pot, Kettle, Black?

Same here drum_billet been using them for years but the eco surcharge is silly and makes saletrack too expensive and uncompetitive. I cant fault their service however.

Having just used up my credit on saletrack, or despatch bay as it is now known I thought I will try Parcelbee. No shipping label has arrived, no response to email query, and if you ring them it just cuts you off. Very poor service from my first experience with them.

Edit: Shipping label has now arrived. Collection is with Parcelforce which is fine are they are usually good in my area and insurance on parcelforce 24 is £150 as standard compared to £50 on UPS and DHL. Also got a reply to my email that they had internet and website problems today which caused delays.

Label received at 11.36am and parcel picked up at 12pm so all good. Will be using them again.

    Help!
I need a reasonably priced, reliable 1-2 service for sending some envelopes internationally with tracking. Any recommendations?
I don't want collection - I'd like to be able to drop it off somewhere on the way to work as I won't be in.
The local Mailboxes etc (who seem to be all over manchester) want to charge me £34 for the privilege of using them to send an envelope!

Also does anyone have experience with getting around being in for collection. I notice a lot of these services offer collection but I'm not in, hence why I was thinking of dropping the letters of at MBE

    thanks

I suppose its an attempt to drive customers. Ill be using them, then switching back to PB lol

They are quoting me £28 including collection. Problem is that is for a parcel which is what they specialise in. They don't price any less for letters unfortunately.

Yes I guess so but I got badly burnt once with a RM Airsure delivery that took about 2 weeks to arrive. You would think there would be a big market for fast shipping documents internationally?

Ah so its an expensive item? Make sure you select internationally signed for and you should be fine. Surely these arent expensive are they? If they can get sent as letters?

    NOTE TO PARCELBEE:
if you're reading here, the site looked a hell of a lot better and easier to use before. If you really want to improve the site, use something like Dreamweaver or pay for a more professional site(Prices normally are between £100 and £600-Of course, the more you pay, the more you get). Serif is terrible. Without being too critical, the site looks like a 12 year old could have done it(sorry for sounding harsh)
