That's odd, my post seems to have disappeared...They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

A lot of these sites are great if you're posting 20 odd kilos but I send books that rarely weigh more than 2kg.
Is there a good service that's cheap £3.00 - £4.00 for items under 2 kilos. Royal Mail just charged me £6.00 for a 1.8 kilo book.MBNA CC: -£8390
Father-in-law loan: -£4500
Student loans: -£17,120

At that kind of price you are either looking at quirky myhermes or quirky collect+. Hermes are ok if you have a good local driver who can collect otherwise you will have to drop off a local shop to use collect+.
Checkout the previous comments about each. Hermes are my weapon of choice but many people dont like them.0 -
I've just used myhermes this week, and after reading the feedback on this forum I had some reservations. However, I found them to be a fantastic and efficient service provider and will definately use them again. My only criticism would be a better pick up time window would be greatSaving for overseas vacation

Yup. Just got a few PB labels through and they're all ParcelForce.
Hope this is only temporary as UPS were brilliant.0 -

Hi,
Newbie poster on this forum so please forgive me. I have tried to look through previous posts.
I need to send a parcel to Algeria. It is just clothes and toys belonging to the recipient. I reckon it will be around 4kg and dimensions maybe around 60x30x20cm.
I have been checking prices and the Parcelbee price of £24.99 for 72hr worldwide delivery seems unbelievably cheaper (and quicker) than any other quotation (which are at least £50, some over £100). Forgive my scepticism but... is it really reliable? I really want this stuff to arrive! Is there any other catch? Your personal experiences of using Parcelbee for unusual foreign destinations would be much appreciated!
Thanks so much everyone for your help in advance.0 -
Right, heres an update for you, p2g are now 1p cheaper than PM. They now have a service for £5.99+VAT(At the current VAT rate, that makes the service £7.04 in total)
They are also going to offer UPS delivery soon, so shall see how that goes. If they can give us a service at £5.52+VAT or less with a 24 hour delivery option included in the price, I will be moving to them instead of PB
mrscairns, whilst we cant say if parcelbee will last as a company, lots of people here have used them with no problems. I personally have used them quite a number of times. Ive used them for European delivery and UK delivery, however not to the rest of the world. Hope this helps0 -
Thanks for your reply. I've just placed my order and will let you know how it goes.
Presumably I need to fill in a customs form? Does anyone know if this will be emailed to me? I have - possibly unwisely - booked the pick-up for today, squeaking in just ahead of the 11am deadline, so not sure if I will get my label in time...
Update - have speedily received an email with 'commercial invoice' to print, however no barcodes in sight, so I have emailed back to ask them if something is missing?
Second update - have now received what looks like all the paperwork. Quite quick responses, though I wish they'd got it right the first time.
To complete the story: parcel just picked up at 2.30pm by cheery Parcelforce driver, after order placed at 10.50am. Quite impressed.0
