    Hi everyone,

We at Parcel Monkey are sorting out a deal with a new courier and hope to run this alongside our current clients. There are trials in place for later this week and we hope to be 100% live by early next week. That's all I can say really at this stage.

Strapped, Having looked at the price you mentioned I can't help but notice there is no mention of VAT. Is that allowed?

That's including VAT. ETA: Someone has corrected me below. Aparently they are not registered for VAT. So what I meant to say was "that's the price you pay".

All my parcels with ParcelBee have gone with UPS :D

    Hi

Please advise me as I'm struggling with this...

I need a fire grate collected from Stafford and brought to Basingstoke, the guy can't wrap it due to the weight but will make sure its cable tied together as one item.

    The weight is 44.6kg and the dimensions are 41" x 13" x 18"

Please help the best price I have so far is £50! :(

    Many thanks

I checked with parcelbee re the vat and they confirm they are not vat registered so the £6.17 is a non-vat price. for those of us vat registered parcelmonkey still have the edge at £6 plus vat. if only they had a later cut off point for collections.

I wondered who would be the first to pop up and say that.

Surprised they are not VAT registered but it doesn't concern me as a smallish eBayer.

  • Might not be long before they need to register though, i reckon they only need to send approx 30 parcels a day before they hit the vat threshold.

Ah well, guess I'll worry about it when it happens :D

  • I was using ParcelMonkey a fair amount (20+ shipments a month) but things seemed to get worse when they switched to City Link. I had some issues with an item and was promised a refund. Three weeks later I'm still waiting despite a number of reminder emails to their refunds mailbox.

I was also far from impressed with the whole PM/Quidco farce with the former trying to blame latter when they had themselves negotiated a deal with the affiliate network which they couldn't sustain/afford.

They haven't even updated the affiliate section of their website which still mentions a commission per order. No doubt they'll correct it when their resident PR person reads this, so here it is for the record (as of 27-Jan)
Affiliate Scheme (Generate revenue from referring Parcel Monkey)

Parcel Monkey has teamed up with Affiliate Future and Commission Junction to create an affiliate program that pays individuals and website owners £1 on every completed order they refer to us. To get started just register an account with https://www.affiliatefuture.co.uk or https://www.cj.com and register for the Parcel Monkey program.

I was previously recommending PM to many colleagues and customers, but will no longer do so in light of my bad experience and poor customer service.

Since then I've switched to ParcelBee - UPS collect at the same time every day and are much more reliable. The PB website might not be as pretty as PM, but they seem they spend their time on customer service instead (which is more important to me).

Hi, I think it's the weight that's making it so expensive. You could try Boxby (www.boxby.co.uk). Free to register and allows you to get quotes from "Man in a van" so may be able to do it on a return journey etc and so save you money. Worth a try?
