Boxby does link with CCL/Parcelsplease but earns no commission (or other income) for referrals. It simply passes on the parcel enquiries that aren't suitable for boxby.

We find that a large proportion of people coming to boxby looking for a courier (meaning man and van rather than parcel network, ie Sofas and agas rather than brown boxes) are simply after a parcel delivery, and that when parcel jobs are posted on boxby it frustrates the couriers who know that the customer is not looking for a courier delivery at courier rates, and it upsets customers when they get quotes of £45/£50 for a man and van delivery when they were expecting to pay £6-£10 for a network parcel delivery.

Are they any good and which company do they normally use for european delivery?

I havent had a problem go wrong with them, so I cant really say what they do when problems occur-yes there was a late delivery by UPS yesterday, but I dont blame that on them or UPS. I blame that on the snow and the fact that my parcel was taken on Christmas Eve

Ive never had them use any other company apart from UPS. This MAY change and it may not

I need to send an item back for an ebay refund (Not as described) and just to make sure I'm fully covered I wanted to check that sending with myhermes would be okay? I know you need a tracking number in case the seller tries to say it was not received and wanted to make sure Paypal would honour a myhermes tracker?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have been reading through here and couldn't see an answer.

Cant answer your specific question but my hermes has been getting a very bad reputation for reliability. There has been numerous threads on the community boards about this. For paypal you need online proof of delivery if my hermes offer this you will be covered

Spent a large part of yesterday talking to someone who had their parcels collected by hermes despite the fact that they had never booked them with them!! Classic case of mistaken doorbell. But could have been avoided if the driver had actually checked the name of the person he was supposed to have collected from!
