not exactly hard to spot the errors. Right click view source
Type into google "w3c html checker" Use the service, and see you're errors. W3C compliance simply means that the website runs on all platforms(including mobile) without any issues, and because the code is now "well written" it means that its
    a) easier to read-the code
    b) I presume easier to browse

I just made my eBay description for a monitor W3C compliant(cant say the same for the rest of the eBay page, but I did what I could) Of course, I saved my original code into a text document first if anything went wrong.

BTW, sorry for the rant, but for people like you reselling Citylink etc.. that little snippet of info may come in useful. Warnings from a tidier aint too bad, but errors Id rectify straight away. I havent checked your site out for W3C compliance yet

I myself am booking with PM when I do not know the weight of and dimensions of the item for a quicker, automated service. After that, then Im using PB, when I know the definite weight and dimensions

Thanks for your advice... but I think you got it the wrong way around.

Parcelbee only needs to know the weight. ParcelMonkey needs to know the dimensions too.

I agree that the ParcelMonkey system seems easier to use but.... with the ParcelMonkey system you need to get your order in before midnight before the day of collection. I couldn't see where it specified this on the website and was nervous about using them because of this as I knew I hadn't time to put both of my orders through before midnight for collection tomorrow and didn't want to get caught out and end up with 2 different collection dates. As it happened midnight was the cut-off so I used ParcelBee instead - which has a cutoff of 9am on the day of collection (and they specified it clearly). PB is slightly less reassuring though not having an address finder but the pricing is constant at £6.49 whereas PM increased with the dimensions of the parcel. PM appeared to have order tracking though (and an login account) whereas PB has none - only parcel tracking.

    Fingers crossed.

You're best bet for NI will be someone that offers a UPS service, UPS are pretty much the cheapest for NI and ROI at the moment. Get the dimensions for the box because even if it doesn't fit into anyone that does UPS flat rate, UPS can take odd shaped/large boxes etc, they just cost a little extra.

Please look at the dates through. Remember that it's getting very tight for a collection before Christmas, and make sure it's delivered before Christmas Eve because that's a terrible day for non-deliveries, and then the parcel is stuck in the depot for nearly a week.

Recently sold some goods on ebay, and found a service called Collect + Store (http://www.collectplus.co.uk/storefinder.php) where you take (up to 10kg) parcel to a local shop (1 fo 3-4000 in UK) and it is delivered to buyer's local shop (you select) via the HDNL network (I think they deliver for Littlewood's catalogue, etc) - COST £3.99!! which includes insurance value of £40.

I started to you Fast Ways

Fastways totally !!!!ed me off a coupla years ago!

They sold me a book of 50 "brown" pre-pay tickets on the promise that these tickets were valid for "Anywhere in Sussex". It states this on the contract. The tickets cost me about £200 or something.

However, in trying to send a 10kg box of books to Petworth House, West Sussex, they refused to take them because Petworth has a GU postcode.

I phoned the MD and told him I'd sent books to Petworth before, so what was the problem? He said they had changed the rules. From now, GU postcodes were no longer considered a part of Sussex, even if the destination town is actually in Sussex!

I pointed out that NONE of the postcodes that cover Sussex are actually in Sussex. For example, the Hastings area has TN postcodes, which is short for Tonbridge, which is in Kent. Likewise, Chichester, the county town of West Sussex, has Portsmouth (Hampshire) postcode. He was unmoved.

No amount of complaining made a dent in their rigid decision. I even phoned Trading Standards, but they would not do anything except tell me I could take Fastway to court.
  • Hey Guys,

I just thought I would share my experience with Parcel Bee, and followed advice from this forum.

I always use the likes of Royal Mail, who seem to charge a fortune. Parcelbee were offering up to 30kg next day delivery in the UK (+ collection).

This was the first time I had ever used such a service. The website was very simple, and of course I was slightly suspicious.

Anyways, I decided to give it a go. I placed my order late on Tuesday night, received my label by email very early the following morning. They gave me a UPS number which was trackable on the UPS website too. UPS arrived at 3PM (fully trackable on their website) and it arrived round 1PM the following day.

I must say, I am quite impressed at this service. And no, I do not work for PB lol but I will def use them again.

    Hello Everyone,

I have not added to this thread for a while now so will be clear from the outset of this post that I do have a connection with ParcelMonkey.

I have no intention of going into detail regarding our future plans etc so will not answer questions based on this area of the business but I am willing to try and resolve minor issues regarding missed collections or slow response times to emails from genuine posts on this thread.

Those who wish to private message me can do so or you can post on this thread for all to see and I will do my very best to advise on a solution that is in the best interests of both sides.

If moneysavingexpert monitors consider this offer, or any future advice given, not acceptable within the rules of this site then please remove my post or offer an alternative solution.

Currently all re sellers and couriers are at their busiest in the run up to Christmas so therefore customer issues are at an increased level also and we at ParcelMonkey are no different. All threads regarding this industry on MSE and other sites are monitored by our staff and it is clear to us that our competitors receive negative posts from time to time also.

At Parcelmonkey we are working hard to reduce the issues our customers feel they have and currently have a success rate of 98.6%
That gives us room for improvement and areas to work on so maybe with genuine constructive posts from our customers reading this thread we can improve on this already high figure together.

Instead of posting on here perhaps you should concentrate your efforts esuring that Parcel Monkey actually reply to customers emails from the contact us page on your website.
Truly appalling customer service from Parcel Monkey........avoid at all costs:mad:
  • Nothing to appreciate about p2g (parcel2go), Great company until things go wrong, I would sooner deal with an Indian call centre than their poor customer services. I seperately booked 2 parcel collections, one for 2nd dec, one for 4th, niether were collected, all p2g would do is rebook, would not actually contact their couriers. Eventually parcels collected 7th or 8th, first one ended in wrong depot twice, took several days to get to destination, way over the 72 hours I paid for. 2nd one took 15 days! to go 40 miles! went to sorting depot no less than 5 times, ending in wrong delivery depot the same amount, went to correct depot, only to be sent to another wrong depot, then back to sort. My goods were damaged. Asked for a refund, they refunded the one that got their fastest undamaged, turned me down for the other that arrived damaged and very late. Ok they can not be blamed for the couriers lateness, but it is down to them to sort out refunds and compensation if required, then they claim from their contractors. no less than 4 times used live online help, several times left in middle of a conversation, waited an age between responses. Advised a supervisor would phone me....no call. Phoned no less than 4 times, asked to speak to a manager, same old pony, not one available, nor a supervisor, one will call you back......no calls after so many promises. I then get mail stating claim for failed collection!, no this was not the case, HDNL MD secretary on the case, hdnl liasing with p2g, but no internal communication. I have now had to initiate a Paypal claim, not sure what is going to happen about the damages either. P2G if you read this, I will NOT give up as its principle, I have lost the chance of those customers using me again! I advise people to use parcelmonkey.co.uk cheaper, more efficient, better comms, dont palm you off, dont use hdnl as a courier. P2G......Your poor treatment of customers will be your downfall, mark my words. You depend on us customers, treat us bad, we take our business and recommendations elsewhere
