And waiting to see just how much Royal Mail will be raising prices byThey deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

ipostparcels pricing is calculated ... using .... the size and weight of your parcel .... . Some additional services are chargeable, others are .... free. The different zones determine the price you pay, as it’s all based on where your parcel is collected from and where it is going to.
A medium parcel, up to 10Kg and 45 centimetres max dimension is £6.99 from London to Tunbridge Wells, but £8.99 to Scotland
You need to know where the parcel is going before you can quote a price to a buyer.0 -

Which part of Scotland though? Nearly all couriers have different pricing to Highlands and Islands. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Well since my last couple of posts regarding price hikes due to City Link l have spent some time comparing third party companies and prices for one of my most sent sized parcel. The results are quite amazing really. I chose the cheapest carrier option which apart from just one was City Link
The following size is for the parcel l send the most and sometimes it could be 2 of the same item to the one recipient so prices below are for both 1 and 2 parcels. Prices are inc of VAT
Size: 60x60x60cm Weight: 10kg
ParcelMonkey Qty 1 £8.98 Qty 2 £16.98
ipostparcels £9.90 £18.30
ParcelsPlease £24.00 £N/A
GWizz £11.38 £22.77
Parcels2Go £35.98 £71.97
InterParcel £7.80 £15.60 (YODEL)
Fast Lane £16.09 £27.61
ParcelForce (Direct) £16.78 £25.18
So for me it looks like ParcelMonkey will continue to be my preferred choice even though Interparcel come in cheaper, its a case of 'better the devil you know'
If anyone does happen to come across a cheaper price, please do let me know.0 -

We were using parcelforce for a good few years but after the vat inclusion and price increase it was just not viable. Moved to parcel2go last year as they had the best rates until we went direct to city link in January. Received a letter last week they are increasing the prices by 5%! With ebay fees going up shortly too not a good start to the year.0

Ive just posted a job on anyvan, but couldn't see any mention of insurance.
Its for 2 parcels from the same address, one just over 10kg and one under - from Nottingham area down to near London.
If anyone knows a better way of arranging this, I couldn't get a quote off the city link website.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If you post the dimensions of the boxes, that would help a lot.
You couldn't get a quote from city-link direct because they are a business account only courier, so you have to go via a broker.
If you post the dimensions on here someone will probably find you a nice cheap delivery quote.0
