Cheap Parcel Delivery Official Discussion

Hi
I am hoping to sell my new (won as a prize and unused) Macbook Air laptop on eBay. I need to factor in the delivery costs and wonder which courier anyone recommends for something like this that is fragile and of a highish value.
Also, I have a couple of other electrical items in their original boxes to sell later on behalf of a relative also (e.g. Panasonic DVD recorder and electric deep fat fryer.) I am worried about how much throwing around this type of thing will get in transit! Is it possible to specify careful handling for fragile items from any couriers that don't charge the earth please? I fully expect fragile items will cost more to send.
Have never booked or used any courier services for sending items before but have always been impressed by our regular Yodell delivery driver who treats deliveries with great care. Trouble is, she won't be dealing with stuff I send apart from maybe the initial collection.
All help gratefully received. Thanks.0 -
i read some of the ealier post and find thepackagedeliverycompany is the cheapest one to sent my parcel to Italy, and book it via their website without problem, and paid through Nochex, get confirmation from Nochex, however, no reply and confirmation from thepackagedeliverycompany itslf ( i booked around 2pm this afternoon), no e-mail one the website and drop them a e-mail havn't got a reply.
I tried to look for a phone number from company house, and surprise had this message- Status: Active - Proposal to Strike off - i google the term which could be that the company applied to Companies House to have their Ltd closed down.
what should i do? i paid with my credit card, shall i ring them to stop the payment, and rebook with parcel monkey instead.
had a really bad day, hope someone can help me out, thanks in advance0 -
You'll probably get an e-mail with your label tomorrow morning, other than that there isn't much point in doing anything else unless your labels don't turn up tomorrow0

however, if they did not turn up in the morning, then i have to wait till next monday to re-book using another company, which is not very nice and fair to my customer0 -
Just the label, the only notification I got was from PayPal, who they have since stopped using0

Hi,
I am thinking of posting something from the UK to New Zealand and am wondering what the cheapest option is.
I have not measured/weighed the item yet but I think it is approx 4 or 5kg and 60cm * 50cm * 40cm
...the best quote I have found so far is £112.60 from interparcel.com...
Are there any cheaper options than this, without compromising on trustworthiness of the service, and also including cover of around £500?
Thanks,0 -
