  • Hey everyone, I need to send my friend's suitcase to her in Japan. It is 25Kg. I've managed to find a quote of about £110 which seems reasonable. What I'm not too sure about is the customs and declaration forms. Can anyone help me out with this? The suitcase has general girly stuff like books, clothes, a travel hairdryer, etc. No contraband.

From looking around, it would appear I'd need to fill out 3 declaration forms, is that correct? Where exactly do I put this on the suitcase for easy reference? I've done loads of Googling but I can't find a simple answer. Would very much appreciate your help.
What carrier are you using, the carrier (not booking agent, actual courier) will usually have a customs form and instructions on their website

DHL still do home deliveries, but using s/e drivers (just like ParcelForce now do). Had one last week. He is a regular and drives a battered white Transit with a red door so everyone knows him by site.

  • Your sell employed courier no longer works for DHL domestic, he now works for YODEL, the new name for home delivery network and DHL domestic combined, however international DHL deliveries are still carried out by employed drivers in DHL liveried vans.

He wears a DHL uniform and uses a DHL terminal. Mind you, DHL are a franchise operation and the guy that ran my local one was getting hacked-off with the amount of !!!! being taken out of him by DHL themselves.

You may realise, but a good majority of parcel firms are franchise operators. Amtrak, HDNL (now yodel), TNT, Fastway to name but 4. That is why some areas have a good service from a particular operator and some don't.

    Hi

I've used Parcel Monkey for a long time now with no problems at all but when trying to pay with my card, as they don't use paypal now, there is a box to tick which says I allow Ogone to store my financial details in a secure way so I won't have to enter them again for future orders with this merchant.

I don't want my card details saved so I don't tick the box but when I click Yes, I Confirm My Order I then get another message which says I allow Ogone to store my financial details etc etc which I will have no choice but to click ok if I want to finally submit my card payment. So it’s basically giving me no choice if I want to proceed with the payment unless I give permission for my card details to be held by Ogone.

The package is 19kg, 48,40,59cm. After reading lots of pages on this thread, should I just use gwizz instead?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Depends which is cheaper really,
there's nothing wrong with ogone, you let amazon and paypal etc to store your details

I sure do but I'm more confident of their customer service than that of Parcel Monkey's and I do know that companies much bigger than PM have had customers card details scammed before. Not being given any choice but to allow them to save my card details is ridiculous.
