Hi, first time poster, long time reader....

Thanks for all the useful information in this thread it has introduced me to some new couriers and better prices. Currently I am using ParcelMonkey for their CityLink next day service and find it excellent, I would echo the problems people have mentioned with parcel2go and i have found them very bad when trying to claim for items damaged in transit. You effectively have to haggle with them for compensation. Unfortunately i still haven't found a better price than their DHL 17.99 for large parcels to Europe (155x107x6cm @3kg).

But what i really wanted to ask if is anyone has any advice on sending a large parcel to USA?

Dimensions are the same 155x107x6cm @3kg (maybe 3.5kg max)

The best price i can find is parcel2go fedex @ £76.95 for 3+ days or £87.18 for 1-3 days.

If anyone knows of anything cheaper i would appreciate the advice.
    Thanks.
If you could shave 2cm off one of the two longest sides and get it to a post office parcelforce global priority would be £67 or global express would be £72.40, but on the parcelforce website it would be slot more, if you can't get the 2cm off then you have some great quotes

Not too much in it then. Thanks, I appreciate the response.

    Hi,

I need to ship a PC Tower and Monitor over to Southern Ireland and was planning on using a courier. Can anyone recommend one with a good reputation (or who has ready had good experiences with this tyoe of shipping)?
My main concern is that it arrives on the day that I need it, so ideally want a company that you can specify the delivery date (I am moving overseas so trying to co-ordinate a lot of different things)

    Many thanks
    Silvara

Edit: I am guessing that the weight would be somewhere between 10-15kg
    approx 50cm x 30cm x 40cm

Price isn't too much of an options since I will claim it back on expenses - am more concerned that it arrives safely

If price doesn't matter, I'd use https://www.wedelivertheworld.co.uk and select the UKMail service, which would be delivered the next day,
    or UPS on https://www.interparcel.com

(edited above since can't post links apparently) :P

Thank you, I will have a look at those links - are these sorts of websites better to use rather than the official DHL/UPS/FedEx/etc??
As I say, say its more about the items being safe and arriving when I need them to rather than the cost...
  • They're just cheaper generally, if you want to book DHL direct you can, but it's very expensive, all the others you listed you have to have an account with them

Thanks for clarifying. I do have a UPS account from a delievery a few years ago that was still active, but have heard some horror stories from friends so was hestitant to use them...
  • I find UPS OK, however I prefer using DHL, UKMail, APC overnight or city sprint overnight
  • Hello everyone,

I'm looking to send a 3kg PC and peripherals within mainland UK (value up to £200), and wondered if anyone could recommend a reliable and safe delivery method? I've never had to send anything this large before, and have never used anyone other than Royal Mail! Answers on a postcard gratefully received ;)
