Remember we have to be kind to newbies - you'll get a slap:D
Some posts back someone said they had been charged for a missed collection. I had a missed collection a few weeks back with Citylink and Parcelmonkey. I take the blame for this one as i leave parcels in the porch with a note on the door and the driver opens the door and takes them - saves me waiting around. This time i forgot the note and it was a different driver who wasnt aware of the arrangement. I got an autogenerated email later that day from Parcelmonkey saying my collection had failed and giving a link to click on to rebook. No cost involved and very easy to do. I've never been charged for a missed delivery by any carrier although i do email the tracking details to the receiver so they can see when to expect it.0 -

It was me that was charged by Gwizz for the missed collection,
I was charged £15 which is high and as with you noone else has ever charged me for a failed collection, i do use parcel monkey all the time and have nothing but praise for them .
It was other members that were saying parcel monkey charge for failed collections not me as i know they dont and alltho every company has it in its terms no one apart from Gwizz charge it and even if they did it would only be 100% of the cost of the delivery not 2.5 times the cost as with Gwizz.
I just find it strange that Gwizz charge so much for this and yet Parcel Monkey dont.0 -
Smartshopper, parcelmonkey do charge for failed collections, but only on their nighfreight service, if you use nightfreight through parcelmonkey you also get charged for missed deliveries!!! And it's about £120

Maybe they do but since the chat was about the citylink service via Gwizz and parcel monkey then all my comments were correct.
So i will make it clear.
If you order a City Link service via Gwizz and you are not in when City Link come to collect then Gwizz will charge your payment card £15.
If you order a city Link service via Parcel Monkey and you are not in when City Link come to collect then Parcel Monkey will rebook the collection free of charge.
So if you are going to use City Link then it is far better to use Parcel Monkey than Gwizz.0 -
correct, or it's even cheaper to use city link through parcel2gonowhere although I don't recommend it0

I had a look at Gwizz terms and conditions and its even worse than £15 for a missed citylink collection - its actually £15.38 plus vat but they do warn you.
I had a look at Parcelmonkey t & c and there was no mention of charges for Nightfreight and i think there used to be. So I asked them the question and they say they removed them a while back and have stopped making charges for missed Nightfreight collections but if you are a persistent offender you will be banned from the service. They also say there are no charges for missed deliverys with any of their services including Nighfreight.0 -

Thanks i did not know that Parcels 2 Go were less than Parcel Monkey,
I may give them a go but i think you may be right about not recommending then , but we shall see what happens.0 -

All the parcel sizes and weights I send work out cheaper with PM than P2GO even if you choose to compare the price of P2GO 2 day service against the PM next day service the PM comes out better. Your sizes and weights may be different so check both first.0
