Anybody know a courier I could use for a replica toy weapon? It's actually video game merchandise but as it's in the form of a gun DHL class it as replica even though its completely plastic, I need to send to the US so don't want to risk it.

Is it just me, or are GWizz victims of their own success at the moment? Still waiting for a "code" from them this morning () and they have a message on their website saying "The G WIZZ Courier Services phone service will open today at 9.30am. If you call before this time, the phones still may ring but we will not be able to answer the calls and you still may be charged. Our new opening times from Thursday 29th Sep will also be 9.30am." Yesterday their customer services were also closed between 08.30 and 1pm.

Does not bode well. Just to warn anyone thinking of using them.
Last time I used them I got the labels after 11am! With a courier arriving not long afterwards. Everytime I swear I won't use them again as I do find this waiting for labels business appaling BUT they're offering an amazing price for UPS that nobody else can match and very cheap insurance for high value items.
  • Having used the likes of Parcel2Go, Parcelmonkey etc., Parcel2Go still leads on the customer service, if not the price - at least one can chat/talk to someone if something goes wrong.

With Parcel Monkey, you'll find it impossible to claim anything if your goods are damaged in transit.
  • The thing with parcel2go is lots of others (me included) say the complete opposite, their live chat is a joke and don't get me started on the phone or their claims department
Parcelmonkey have been good to me when I have used them.

I would second that, i have only read bad things about Parcels 2 Go's customer service, But to be fair i have not used Parcels 2 Go for about 2 years now, and i did never have a need to contact their support.

And with Parcel Monkey they used to have a lot of bad comments about their support, but i use them every day and i can only praise them and their support these days.

Same here l can say that the handful of issues l have had when using ParcelMonkey have been resolved rather quickly, but to be fair to ParcelMonkey the issues l have had is about the courier company itself i.e. not collecting when due too.

Labels are mostly processed within 15 minutes.

I used to use Parcel2Go before hearing of ParcelMonkey here on MSE and all l can say is the only issue l had was the price difference l have saved ££££'s since changing.
  • Hi, first time poster, long time reader....

Thanks for all the useful information in this thread it has introduced me to some new couriers and better prices. Currently I am using ParcelMonkey for their CityLink next day service and find it excellent, I would echo the problems people have mentioned with parcel2go and i have found them very bad when trying to claim for items damaged in transit. You effectively have to haggle with them for compensation. Unfortunately i still haven't found a better price than their DHL 17.99 for large parcels to Europe (155x107x6cm @3kg).

But what i really wanted to ask if is anyone has any advice on sending a large parcel to USA?

Dimensions are the same 155x107x6cm @3kg (maybe 3.5kg max)

The best price i can find is parcel2go fedex @ £76.95 for 3+ days or £87.18 for 1-3 days.

If anyone knows of anything cheaper i would appreciate the advice.
    Thanks.

I don't think anyone will provide insurance for a TV. You could try www.anyvan.com ?
