Hello.

I'm looking for a cheap company that can ship from the USA to Portugal.

Right now I need a parcel of 140kg, or it can be divided by 4 parcels of 35kg each. (It's car wheels)

All the quotes I get are around 800$, and that price is mad high.

collectmyparcel.com offer City Link from £6.99+VAT for up to 20Kg I don't think is that bad, cheaper than Parcel Monkey.

Thanks for the answers. I emailed the seller in end. I was really worried about using a courier for the first time especially as it was for a 'too good to be true' ebay purchase as well. But apparently the item has been collected and should arrive today. Fingers crossed!!!

Oh - and it was the £6.99 citylink service as above. Thought that was really good value

With thepackagedeliverycompany.com they'll use a premium courier, such as fedex or parcelfore, for £7.50 inc vat upto 20kg

Are they VAT registered now? Their site says £7.50 and no mention of VAT.

I think the £7.50 includes vat,

Companies House is for Limited companies isn't it? Not VAT registration, that would be the HMRC.

I don't think they are VAT registered, so it's a good price for home users, small eBay users but no good for VAT registered companies.

Thought I'd share my experience with Gwizz. I thought they were overall pretty good and excellent value for money BUT the label situation is kinda ridiculous. I booked in the evening for a next day UPS collection expecting my shipping labels to be availbale within minutes(they send them to you via email) but actually received them after 9am the morning collection was due (from 9am!) All the brokers I used before had labels available to print immediately. Wasn't impressed with that at all really. They don't warn you beforehand either- so if you don't have a printer and pop to a friend to book a collection and use their printer- well tough, will have to wait until the morning!
UPS were excellent, delivered within less than 24hrs. But you have to have recipient's phone number to make a booking(which with ebay buyers isn't most convenient)

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who isn't a member of MSE as I know nothing about couriers. basically they need a large bag collected from a camp site here in the South and transported North to Scottish borders, there is no facility at all for the case to be handed over properly it is literally just to be collected from the entry hut of the facility.

Is it even possible and if not are there any other sensible suggestions please?
