Hi guys,
I'm having difficulty in finding a decent priced courier. Best price i've found so far is £35.99 (i could get it myself and it would cost less!)
The problem i'm having is that although my item is not heavy (5kg's) it is long (190cm). I've tried the majority of sites and a lot of people say to parcelforce it as their 150cm is more often than not unenforced? This would cost only £10.99 to send and people say they have successfully sent ski's through this service.
Any advice?
I've tried interlink, anyvan, shiply so far
Oh, i should mention it is UK to UK going from doncaster to coventry.0 -
Hi all,
I have bought a kitchenaid mixer from the states, and I got it delivered to a friend of mine who lives in New York.
The box size is : 19.4in x 17.3in x 13.3in and the weight is 29lb.
Any recommendations of how I can get it delivered to the UK.
Thanks0 -
I'm not sure why the page about cheap parcel companies states of Hermes "feedback's limited"... I have just had a bad experience with this company, and from a very brief google search I came across an enormous amount of negative feedback about them.0

Hi guys I plan on selling prints over the internet to a world wide audience.
My problem I am facing is the postage and packaging of the prints.
They vary in size, however the biggest will be a1 (84cm - 59cm)
I think the best type of packaging would be postal tubes?
I am based in Kent, England.
What the the cheapest way to send oversea's? I have researched and the cheapest I can find is around £50 which is ridiculous. I know some companies who ship worldwide only charge about £5-10 shipping.
Thanks in advance
You could try transglobalpremium.co.uk - they are usually very competitive. Where do you expect to be shipping to?0 -

Sorry another question about couriers. My OH just sold something on ebay and I've been given the task of choosing a courier and I'm at a loss, the item in question weighs 18kg and sold for just under £500. I occasionally use Yodel via Parcel2go but it's always pretty low value items but heard a lot of people reporting problems and saying that they're impossible to get compensation from if something goes wrong*touch wood*
If I could I'd use RM Special Delivery but it only goes up to 10kg.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.0 -
It would be helpful if Martin's article mentioned which companies accept larger parcel shipments.
By working my way through the links I've found that collectmyparcel.com doesn't seem to have the same 150cm max dimensions limits that the other cut price companies have.
I used them once before when I sold a VW Sharan dog guard on ebay which was 147cm by 110cm when wrapped and CMP only charged me £8.95 for DHL 48 hour shipment, and just now I've had to send another large parcel, a front strut for my Microlight aircraft which is 225cm in length and is in a 12cm diameter cardboard protective tube, and this time it's £8.39 for City Link next day delivery.
In my limited experience CMP has been fine to useI'd be happier on holiday in Brittany than being at work !0 -
