i found parcelmonkey/fedex good but stopped using them when the website said no insurance for secondhand goods - does it still say that?
for european ive found www.worldwide-parcelservices.co.uk to take some beating
Yes, it still says that FedEx don't cover 2nd hand goods. So only really any good for business sellers selling brand new stuff.
Have to say, very impressed with the courier driver in my area though (John in the South Hams, if anyone from ParcelMonkey or FedEx reads this). Very professional, even gave me his mobile phone #.
They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

collectmyparcel.com additional insurance up to £100 is £2+VAT so only £2.30 extra to pay0 -
I regularly send large parcels and have been using Shiply for a while, but would advise caution.
The first thing to realise is that whilst it looks a lot like eBay it isn't eBay and there is no buyer protection.
Thus once you have accepted a bid, you pay your money (to Shiply) and that is the last you will see of it, whether or not the courier actually performs.
Shiply's advice is to check the bona fides of a courier by, amongst other things, asking to see their insurance and professional association membership details. However, whilst you can do this before you pay the courier it is impossible to do before you pay Shiply! (the website software intercepts and blocks any attempt to exchange email addresses or phone numbers etc)
The only thing you can check before paying Shiply is the courier's feedback. Having been caught twice now by couriers* with apparently good feedback, I would advise caution. Feedback can be 'manufactured' by an unscrupulous courier, so I would suggest looking to see - amongst other things - whether the person giving feedback also has a good feedback score and over how long a period it has been given. If all a couriers feedback has been given within a few weeks by people with low feedback scores of their own, you could be in trouble.
Remember - if some 'courier' bids for your job, picks up the parcel and you never see him or the parcel again - Shiply don't want to know
*Experience 1. Courier picked up, delivered item to the house of a friend of his that was 20 miles from the recipient of parcel and asked friend to do the final leg. Friend's van was off the road. Courier still left the parcel and when contacted by me asked if recipient could come and collect the parcel!
Experience 2. Courier bid for job, was awarded it, we paid Shiply, courier did not reply to emails, phone calls or text messages. No pick up. Shiply would not intervene or refund the fee.
As an alternative I would recommend Paisley Freight, who are VERY well priced for larger and bulky items.0 -
Hello, all just wondering for those who have gone to parcelmonkey via quidco, how long does it take you for the tracking to come in?
Also, just wondering does the cashback offer work for parcel2go only for your first order, or is it possible that they just give you it anywayas it is with some vouchers
They do owe me two £5 vouchers though!-Ive received them, but I cant use them yet lol

Collect Plus are useless. Saga of mistakes.
-Tried to drop of at the shop I had booked at. No longer doing collect+.
-Found another shop and dropped off.
-Followed advice of others and made it clear it was not a return and did not need another label.
-Got receipt which showed correct delivery point and recipient.
-96hrs later I now find out it has gone to Raven RC which apparently is Littlewoods returns depot.
-Now have to wait for them to find parcel. They have "teething Problems" I am told and are trying to weed out the "problem" shops.0
