our gadget failed that day too but we still collected our pick ups because we know our customers well - it was no trouble to call on them and explain what had happened. all of them were understanding whether they had pick ups or not!
I think were talking about two different things here.
I've been a courier for 10 years on the same route, my area is city centre with some residential. I have new business daily from the city centre and one offs often from my residential. It was impossible on the 28th to know who had booked a pick up with myHermes, Int or P2GO.
The regular customers who had returns could give them en route, no problem.
Randal had booked a MyHermes pick up so had no idea of the couriers contact details and the courier had no idea he was expecting a pick up from them.0 -
I wonder if anyone could help me. I need to send a CD to the USA which has been sold for £180 or so (its rare), so royal mail's airmail small parcels insurance wouldn't cover it should anything happen in transit.
Can anyone recommend an overseas courier that can send very small items like that cheaply with the required insurance?
Any help would be appreciated...

Even though you don't need a signature for an item under £150 it must still fully track to buyers address, and RM do not offer that service. So regardless of sale price you need to use a courier.
Hi - The correspondence on a previous few pages has pretty much answered the question to my previous post #1985 and I will use parcel2go as was advised however I was curious about the above quote which suggested you always must have tracking for selling on ebay.
.
I'd be curious to know under what circumstances that's the case?0 -
I've actually used GWizz today, but tbh it does put me off when a company spams a formum to drum up business.
If anyone would like some genuine feedback: This was the 2nd parcel I've sent with them. First one was UPS, very pleased. This one was CityLink and I was a bit disappointed that I had to phone GWizz to get the consignment number as they hadn't emailed it to me by the time that CityLink may have already arrived to collect (but fortunately hadn't).They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

we are talking about the same day - you just didn't read what i wrote - we purposely called on our regular customers who require pick ups (not knowing if they had any or not) so we didnt let them down - its called customer service - our customers use myhermes, p2g etc.0 -
Wow, this is a very long thread and I'm baffled with it. So I thought it might be easier to just ask a quick question. I'm wanting to send a 20kg parcel tracked within the uk, 48hour delivery maximum time. Can anyone suggest who's reasonalby priced and reliable. Thank you.0

Try parcel2go - they seem to be consistently good for UK and I've never had any problems with them. Parcelbroker have the best international rates I could find.0 -
3 days ago on Parcel2Go after staring at the expensive prices for next day delivery, I refreshed the page and TNT's next day was only £4.99! YAA!0

Not queried the day and read what you said fully.
It would have been impossible for me to call to every address on my round, that have used the service in the past to check if they may have booked a pick up with MyHermes, INT or P2GO, it has nothing to do with customer services. I prefer to use my customer service skills on the possible, it's not my job to try to sort out Hermes problems.
Hermes couriers are already the office, deliverer, store and customer services and often blamed by Hermes when things go wrong.
In this area I only know one courier who called or could have called to all customers and that's because they have a very small round.
I work to make a living and that's very difficult with Hermes, I wouldn't hesitate helping customers but Hermes will and do let you do their work, whenever they find a mug (usually new couriers) the long servers have either left through poor treatment or stay to top up another income.
On the last count Hermes employed 7,500 self employed couriers, perhaps they only need to find 7,499 more like you bethesda and their profits would soar.
