After a bit of digging around it appears that MyHermes are the cheapest. They charge £4.10 for 1-2kg and £5.86 for 2-5kg.
Does anyone know of any prices cheaper than this, or have any any experience of using them in relation to eBay?
If you are selling 100 items a week you can opt for Royal Mail tracked. This is a 2-3 day service with full tracking (not like recorded delivery). You negotiate one price per item. Each item is charged at the one price for 0-5kg for ALL uk postal codes.
If you aren't selling that volume, it may still be cheaper to have a PPI account with Royal Mail as your 1st and 2nd class postage will be cheaper than the norm, plus you can send 2nd class items up to 2kg in weight as opposed to the 1kg personal customers have.0 -

Thanks for the info. Royal Mail Tracked sounds interesting but may be more useful to me further down the line as the majority of stuff i send at the moment is class as large letters, so only cost me 80p. I wasn't aware that you can send up to 2kg via RM if you have a PPI account. I'll check to see how much they charge for that and try MyHermes for the stuff that weighs 2kg and above.
Thanks again.0 -

RM don't charge for PPI, you basically have an account. You bag your own mail and print your own postage label. The rates are substantially less than normal first and second with the added benefit of more kg for 2nd. So may just be the thing to help you out.

After the problem I had with Interparcel just before Christmas I thought I'd give them another go seeing as HDNL and the weather were as much to blame as anyone. Rebooked the same parcel but went with a different courier option, spent the whole day waiting for a UPS van to turn up, by 3pm I got a bit worried emailed Interparcel to double check someone was actually still coming, was told they would be here by 6pm latest and well they never turned up.
I think I'm done with Interparcel now. I'm not sure what to do now, Parcel Monkey were fine when I used them at the beginning of the year but I can't use them after what I've read here and while the Royal Mail are bloody expensive by comparison I think I'll have to use them now cause I'm not spending another day hoping for someone to pick up a bloody parcel. God knows how much They'll charge me for a large 7KG box though.2007 Won Ipod 30GB Video Sold on ebay for £136.51
Total Winnings in 2007 = £136.51 :T
Total Winnings In 2008/2009/2010 = £0
Total Winnings In 2011 = £305.37 (49s Lotto):D
Total Winnings In 2012/13/14/15/16/17/18 = 0
Total Winnings This Year = £0 :mad:0 -

No courier is 100% all you can do is stack the odds in your favour by using one of the best ones - which you did and still came unstuck.
If you have a local depot and your parcel has a label attached you can take the parcel to them and hand it over.
I know you have paid for it to be collected but it is less stressfull than rebooking or waiting in for another day wondering what will happen.0 -
G Wizz couriers
I've sent a few parcels with reseller G Wizz in December.
They use UPS next day AND have £300 free insurance AND their rate is better than Interparcel.
They are great to deal with - have a phone number that they answer and if they say they will call back they do.
They sent out a newsletter a few days ago and they have found a way to improve even on this current state of Nirvana and the improvment is .........
They are switching to City Link instead of UPS - oh joy.
Here is an excerpt:
the most exciting news is our new contract with City Link - and we have you to thank for that! See below for the benefits you’ll be seeing…
New contract with City Link etc etc etc
for me they have just improved things so much i will be unwilling to use them. Seems a shame that their caring customers sales team is destined for a hard time.0 -
Booked on the 15th for collection on the 16th December (last date for pre Christmas delivery).
Package still waiting to be collected (31/12) after several phone calls and emails.
My advice - steer clear!

I've used them a few times, the bloke was always there in the morning promptly. However the service has slipped over the festive period, my last collection was a day late & I still have a parcel here that should have been collected on Thursday 30/12. I'll see how they perform next week before deciding to switch.0 -

Could you give us an idea of how much discount is obtainable, at what volumes please, as I am thinking of opening an account? They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
