Does anyone know the cheapest way to send a camera within the UK? It's valued at around £1000 and weighs 3kg with a box of 38cm x 27cm x 27 cm.

The cheapest quote I've had is around £50 with insurance for the full value.

Is there a cheaper way of doing it? Delivery time doesn't need to be imminent or before Christmas.

    Thank you all!

I would not take the risk of sending until the holiday season is over I was at my local parcelforce depot yesterday to drop some parcels and they were chucking items in lorries as if there was no tomorrow.

    PARCELMONKEY!

had no collections from parcelmonkeys courier the last couple of days, no problems with snow in the essex area! in fact i see the usual city link driver at next doors today, i've raised a ticket but just annoying, two days i've stayed in now and its a nightmare. Used them loads in the past and i appreciate that snow is causing issues, but i want to use another courier now, i need to get these parcels to my customers in time for christmas, i dont want to risk another day sitting in.... bet thats going to be fun with getting a refund from them, although i paid with paypal so i hope there going to refund me quickly.

ive sent a message to parcel monkey using ther eonline system asking if they can collect from my home or refund me. I will try interparcel i think next but dont want to book them yet until i have my refund or do you think i should wait until parcelmonkey reply.... dont want to lose another day.

Same problem here, I waited for City Link for 3 days and they said the earliest they could collect was today, keyword was "earliest"

Asked them to refund, they asked for my email address, not refunded yet but booked the same parcel at 11am today with Interparcel, UPS collected by 3pm, problem solved.

They forward the email to some department that gets the refund to you, not sure how long it will take.

cheers well i'll do that and get a refund from pacelmonkey... no news from them... at the end of the day its not all about price they have to have good communication aswell and the weather has caused probems but there is no excuse for not replying in my book. take my business elsewhere. let hope interparcel understand what customer service is.

  • Used Myparceldelivery.com for a 5kg parcel. Only £6.95 for next day delivery fully tracked via Citylink. Collected from home at 4pm and delivered before 12 noon the next day. Great service.

    Morning Stolt,

Don't worry about your refund as it will be paid.

Many customers at the moment are booking with all re sellers and couriers directly expecting the same level of service they would get in good weather conditions.
When the courier fails to arrive many are asking for refunds and at the moment we have a large back log of these.

All will be paid out but it will take time.
The same can be said for customers with parcels at City Link depots. They are not lost as many are stating but simply stuck at the moment.

Once the weather improves and Christmas is out of the way all the couriers will clear the back logs, as will we, and service levels can get back to a much higher standard.

To all customers, please look at the details concerning the above on our home page for more information.

    Thank you.
