That is a bad driver. Hardly the broker's fault though is it?
It doesn't matter to me who people use, and this thread can be an early warning of things going wrong. But two bookings? One fine and one where the driver mucks it up and lies. Not exactly in depth is it?

Actually, I did check the tracking number several times and it just read 'booked for collection' on the Citylink site and when I did get through to them (after 31 minutes!!) they did admit it was their error, which was something, I suppose...

I guess I should just be grateful they have a phone number, unlike Parcel monkey
  • Morning everyone,

Problems with courier drivers are the biggest cause of issues regarding service levels for all courier re sellers.

When a booking is made on our's or any other re sellers website we all expect, like the customer, that the item will be collected and delivered on time.
Failure from our point of view results in a loss of income and at times repeat business which is not what we want.
From the customers point of view this causes wasted time and that "unknown" feeling we all hate.

We have seen a number of driver issues this Summer as the normal drivers take their holidays and cover is provided from someone less experinced shall we say.
As a business we are not happy and are addressing this with our courier partners as we fully understand our customers point of view and we are responsible for the transaction booked with us.

In terms of failure rates, be it collection or delivery, this has gone up to 3% since late July and we now expect to see that fall as most regular drivers have taken their summer leave.

Rest assured that we are working to deal with these driver issues and appoligise on their behalf to all customers concerned.

Parcelmonkey are excellent when they work the first collection I had was perfect but it was an actual citylink driver the next 2 that went wrong were both white van men which is obviously where the problem lies.

Minnie i can see what your saying TBH i wouldn't feel confident with a white van man turning up saying he's from xxx i would expect proper sign posted vans etc meaning they are from the original company and not from a sub or a stand in.

  • Hearing on the grapevine that Fastway have gone bust - not just one of the ever shrinking number of local depots, but the central head office that runs all the depots. Is this true does anyone know???

I know Fastway in Glasgow went bust a good few months ago, I'm not sure if it's nationwide. My last employer used to send dozens of items every day via them for same day delivery and a few next day items, but when they stopped the same day service we stopped using them and according to our Fastway driver a lot of other companies done the same as it just wasn't worth it. Shame though.
  • Can thoroughly recommend ParcelsPlease.com for delivery of heavy parcels to Europe. £30 plus VAT got me door to door delivery from Dorset to East Crete for a tea-chest size box weighing 25kg! (it could have been heavier - up to 30kg) The courier picked the box up on the day quoted, it took just under a week to get to Athens, and then a couple of days for the Cretan end to sort themselves out! I was given a tracking link which worked at all stages. Customer Services at Parcels Please were helpful and knowledgeable - great service, great price. Highly recommended:j

For me it's been months of headache with no refund in site.
City link said all along that they sent it to the wrong person, as someone in their depot put the wrong sticker on it.
But Parcel Monkey will not refund.
Every couple of days it becomes "resolved", and closes until I reopen it.
    Any advice?
