Hi Zadie
We use collectmyparcel.com, they work out at £7.45+VAT for the DHL 1-2 day service but as most things we send are over 20Kg it works out good value (set price right up to 30Kg). What we have found apart from really good customer service i.e. a phone line where people answer (although it is 10am whilst 4pm) and e-mails answered at all sorts of times in the evenings:T, is that when we have decided to cancel and booking for whatever reason we get a refund the same day. They have said "as soon as we have confirmation on our screens from DHL that it wasn't collected we can refund you." And they always have. I know on some things HDNL services are cheaper but the service we get form collectmyparcel.com and DHL out weighs that for us.
We see it as a "You get what you pay for".:j
Also.... we do get some failed collections and we have had parcels lost, but that's a DHL thing isn't it....?0 -

Thanks for this (i put in the dimensions and weight) but unfortunately £95.74 to send a parcel is a little out of our budget! I could buy a two man delivery for a lot less. I have now booked with senda2b parcelforce £14 for next day delivery. Wish me luck.:TSTAY CALM and CARRY ON0 -

Gulp! We've never had any come up at that price. What were the dimensions and weight? Parcel Force for £14 sounds good.0 -
I'm getting extremely concerned now with Parcel Monkey, and I've been using them since the start of the year and they have been perfect up to the last 2 weeks. Firstly, I had a parcel damaged and PM took an age to get my compensation paid.
This last week a more worrying trend. They seem to be sending labels that are not getting recognized by City Link drivers hand held scanner. I had one parcel lost and eventually found last week but now I have one which has completely vanished - this package has a value of £1000.
I know the labels don't work as the driver scanned a parcel in front of me and it came up as Error on his scanner.
After having a nightmare getting £200 compensation I am terrified at the prospect of a £1000 claim. I think I may go direct with UPS in the fuure0 -

That's strange, my City Link driver never scans my parcels.
He just gets me to sign on a sheet.
When did City Link change to using the barcodes?Young moneysaver in the making
A penny saved, is a penny earned0 -
Yes I sign a sheet as well, but they do have scanners and the labels I print out have barcodes on. It could be coincidence, but 2 in less than a week go missing is very worrying0

My driver scans, and gets me to sign on the electronic pad on the scanner. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
dewmass,
We have had some barcode issues recently.
Our MBG codes stopped when we reached 99,999 and City Link switched us to LW9 without contact.
This did cause a few problems for a couple of days but all shipments should have been collected and delivered still.
Please contact me with your booking details at matt@parcelmonkey.com if you wish and I will help locate your parcel which I am sure is in a City Link depot.0 -
I would never recommend using Interparcel as I had the worst possible experience with them a couple of weeks ago and suffered loss due to their irresponsible way of doing bussiness.
I booked the collection with them on Friday, 4 June 2010, took a day off, stayed at home for the whole day but no one turned up.
I contacted Interparcel customer services for the explanation the same evening. The customer services representative appologised and asked when will the next convenient time for the collection be. I asked them to come on Monday afternoon, 7 June 2010.
As you might have already guessed, no one turned up again as they decided to pop in the morning instead even though I told them in plain English I will not be at home in the morning - so what was the point in going there at the non-arranged time?
Finally, being already a bit upset, I contacted the customer servies again on Monday evening and asked them to come and collect it the next Friday, 11 June 2010. Guess what - no one turned up again!! Another day off, spent at home for nothing.
Taking into consideration the cost of my time and the value of the parcel they failed to collect and deliver (it was an Ebay return), the total loss I suffered was about £180.
When I contacted Interparcel on Friday evening to tell them that no one came to collect the parcel again and to request the refund of the postage fee (£7) and the failed delivery (£36), they said that they can only offer me the refund of the postage fee as the delivery was not 'guaranteed'!
Have you every heard anything more ridiculous? Basically, no matter what you are sending and how important it is, you are not covered at all if Interparcel guys change their mind and decide not to turn up but go home for the early dinner instead. Nice job, isn't it?
Whatever happens - don't use their services as you will only waste your money, time, get stressed and will be treated with the disrespect.0 -

Which courier did you book? The only time we had an early attempted collection with interparcel (UPS service) I contacted UPS direct on the same day and they rebooked the collection later that pm. Turned out the driver was coming back anyway at the arranged time.
Otherwise no problem with them - I guess it depends on the service you book. UPS (they are currently servicing the Interparcel Standard) also give you a collection window, so you can book collection from say 1pm to 5pm.0
