Zadie,
I am not sure of the problem you have faced but am happy to look into this for you if you provide details. My email is matt@parcelmonkey.com
In regards to the statement "Citylink confirmed to me that parcel monkey authorised for my parcel worth £200 to be left in a garage without signature." while I don't doubt they said this to you I can confirm we would not sanction such an action as it would leave us liable. If no one was at the delivery address to sign for the item then as per our terms and conditions the parcel would be returned to the depot by the courier and a new delivery date would have to be arranged.
As I first said If you wish to provide me with more detail I am happy to look much further into this issue for you.0 -
Zadie - advice given without much thought. You simply believed City Link when they said "wasn't me, was him". A defence kids use all the time. City Link don't want to go through a second delivery. One of my customers had a package left at the local Post Office. Very kind of the postmaster to take it.
As for compensation, parcelmonkey do take their time. I had a claim going for months, but ended up with £15 more than I had claimed for.0 -
This is the way I see it:
The buyer may have rightly or wrongfully claimed INR to get their money back via PayPal
Either CityLink/Parcelmonkey allowed for the item to be left in the garage
Your contract is with Parcelmonkey, so Id be wanting at least the cost of the item+postal costs, if not more money(settled via small claims)
If this fault was a CityLink fault, and not a pm fault then pm should then in return sue Citylink for not providing the service that they paid for
Citylink should then reprimand the delivery person(if its their fault) The police should also be involved. If indeed the buyer claimed INR fraudulently, the CityLink driver would be a witness and the buyer could be arrested for obtaining an item by deception
This way, everyone gets their money, except those who's fault it was-or the buyer may fraudulently have the item, but thats for the police to decide0 -
I have looked over the last 6 pages but i can't find an answer. What is the next best to parcel monkey (as i dont want to use them after what i have read). my parcel is not very big but is 12kgs. It is a small tent.

Zadie,
Rest assured that your case will be resolved and please make future contact via me if you wish.
As waqasahmed points out there is lots to look into with your case but we will get there.
In terms of "none problem" delivery rates our figures currently stand at 96.3% with City Link and 79.2% with HDNL.
These rates reflect errors that as a re seller we consider out of our control but understand from our customers point of view we have to resolve following investigation.
As I said the other day we have been slow at times in communication with customers, and resolving simple issues, but are putting systems in place to speed this up.
Due to the very nature of our rapid month on month growth we have become victims of our own success in our customer care at times but fully understand the need to address this if we wish for our business to continue with it's strong growth.
Improvements to key areas are being put together and we hope this becomes more noticeable very soon.0 -
I am very happy with Parcel Monkey but please, Parcelmonkey company representative, could you keep the senders details on file a bit longer.
They seem to stay for a few days, but not as long as a week.
It is tedious and wastes time to have to enter them all again.0 -
Do Parcel Monkey have insurance for items sent? I want to send a saxophone with a value of £180 and need a courier or parcel service. It weighs 7 KG.There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -

Yes, standard insurance is £50 but you have the option to add more. I'm not sure what the insurance prices are now as they recently changed them but you can put through a mock order to have a look.0 -
Can we see what the ratio is for success versus failures stories we have experienced for lost or damaged parcel claims and how this varies with carrier?
I can post a failure of claim for a lost UK parcel with DHL where the receiver of the parcel claimed the signature on receipt was a forgery done by the van driver. It was complicated by the third party booking agent disappearing but even before that DHL proved difficult and obstructive for three months.

I can post two positive results for lost parcels with Royal Mail small packet international where they paid in full promptly.0 -
By the way, i used parcel2go and it was £7 ish for a 12kg parcel and i got £4 back as i went through topcash. Super cheap parcel!
So others may feel it beneficial to fo this. You can only do it once but quidco may also have same offer!0
