Through Transglobal, have got a quote of £27.66 + vat through DPD.

Anyone think I can get cheaper / any experiences?

    (Thanks for replies so far)

I realise that it's probably far too late now for yourself, but for future reference Express Packages on eBay can do Estonia up to 30kg for £27.99. (Nice bloke, used him several times).

  • Hello Everyone,

Sorry I have not been around for a few weeks but something personal came up and I have been out in Peru since June 2nd.

I am now back and am more than happy to help out where possible.
  • Not sure where the thread is going but as I can't post a new thread....

Can anyone recommend a company that will accept to ship liquids or creams to Europe? It seems that all the cheaper companies exclude these items although there must be demand for this service? I'm talking about non dangerous, non alcoholic items. I wanted to mail some special hair conditioner and some skin cream that is much cheaper to buy in the UK than in France.

I think that Royal Mail will do it but then they are rather expensive.

    Any suggestions for couriers?

    Thanks in advance - Mark

I can't think why any courier wouldn't accept it for carriage.

I've sent face creams to my friends in Spain and also to relatives in Canada with no isses at all. RM was very well priced for lighter items airmail small packet. Germany has some issues with perfumes, but I think that is about the only beauty products that are an issue in Europe.

    Dear 'Parcelmonkey company representative'

How pleasant to see that you have time to spend here, especially as no staff have any time to spare to answer my mails sent directly to PM.

I've been using PM for 5 - 10 collections per week for approx 6 months now with no problems whatsoever, but now, and unsurprisingly, as soon as CityLink stop collecting and are replaced by the useless Home Delivery Network, immediately problems begin......

A 'Next Day' delivery parcel should have been collected from here Monday 17th May, but it wasn't picked up from the usual hiding place at the rear of the house, as HDNL came instead of the usual 'CityLink' (The info to pick up from the hiding place was put onto my order form as usual, and the CityLink courier always collected from there no problem)
HDNL left a 'sorry we missed you' card, but the courier obviously hadn't read the full info on their manifest which clearly stated where the parcel was.
I then called the HDNL automated line and rebooked for yesterday Tuesday 18th, and as a back up, did the same online. (Both times, the booking was confirmed) I waited in all day yesterday and no one came, despite the rescheduled bookings.

I mailed ParcelMonkey Monday night but there's been no reply at all.
As there's no phone number for them on their site, and 'Googling' produces no results, I can't even speak to a live person. (HDNL is just as carp, having just an automated phone number)

Now here's where it gets very weird......
I decided to go back onto the HDNL website tonight, and add the order number to the tracking box - I knew it shouldn't have said anything, so I don't know quite why I did it, but unbelievably....it says the parcel now at a South Devon depot! How very odd, when I can see it in my hallway.

Tracking info for the invisible parcel:

17/05/2010 01:38:00 DEPOT The parcel has been received into depot
17/05/2010 10:13:00 VAN The parcel has been loaded on to the drivers van
17/05/2010 18:09:00 DEPOT The parcel is in the Depot

So, the upshot is, HDNL haven't come back today because they believe they have the parcel!
How do you sort out a collection for a parcel that is registered as in the system already ????
I've had to send a grovelling mail to my buyer who paid for 'Next Day' delivery. I reckon I can kiss goodbye to my 100% pos feedback as a seller, and I will have to shell out to post the parcel tomorrow 'Special Delivery' at the Post Office.

Mistakes happen, but the lack of customer service from PM is unbelievable - I didn't realise how bad it was until I came on here and Googled to see just how many people have real complaints.
At a minimum, I should have received a reply by e-mail or telephone today, there is no excuse for the shoddy service.

    Tara

Parcel Monkey used to be my favourite site to use for my eBay parcels as a powerseller. Their site was easy to use and 7 pounds for next day delivery by City Link is cheap.

However, they are impossible to contact to a point that I have to create an account in this forum just to get a responds (if any)

    Order details #237178
2 days ago, I had to make a recollection for my parcels and contacted them through their website and haven't received a reply till today! I had to book another delivery using DHL just to get the parcels to my customers in time and lost 14 pounds for 2 parcels. So much for replying emails within 24 hours.

    Order details #236584
The problem with this order really shows how bad parcel monkey is when it comes to solving problems.

Customer complained item not received. I tracked the parcel using the reference number and guess what

22/06/10 09:41 Collection cancelled at the request of the City Link account holder.

18/06/10 14:23 These goods have been successfully collected and are on route to the collection Depot.

17/06/10 15:40 The collection Depot has received your instructions and a driver has been scheduled to make the collection.

Apparently my parcel got cancelled without notifiying me! Contact parcelmonkey and as usual no replies and no telephone number. Gave citylink a call and told me they had no idea where the parcel is and I have to contact PM about it.Requested for a phone number from citylink and received one 02030516748 but it was useless. It was just an automated number to redirect your calls to their unresponsive email system by saying their agents are 'busy' allll .... the time. Try calling that number yourslef and see what I mean.

Now my "Next day" parcel is stuck somewhere and not delivered in more than a week as Parcel Monkey decided to cancel it for some reason. I won't be surprise if I get a negative feedback and lose my 100% positive feedback thanks to awful and non-existant customer service by ParcelMonkey.

For every parcel I send, I check as many courier websites as I can think of. Transglobal Express (using DHL) is always the cheapest and never any problems.

Could you not then take PM to court for not providing a service which you paid for?

You paid for a tracked delivery with a signature(either 24/48 hours) and you did not receive the service.
If Parcel Monkey make this a habit, I foresee a lot of business heading PPP's way

Hi Waqasahmed. Problem we find with PPP is that your limited to 0.17m3 and if you need to go over this then it's like an extra £6+VAT making them really expensive. So you're fine for a 1ft cubed (30cm3) parcel but super expensive for a 2ft cubed (60cm3) parcel.

I have two parcels booked with PM for Mon (before I read the above lol) - slightly nervous now, but I'll let you all know how I get on. ;)
