Any advice for shipping to Estonia?
I have a package 30kg, 55cmx30cmx30cm
Of course, despite the country being part of the EU, courier companies don't agree and have been messed about with some saying it's Europe and other deciding it's worldwide
The big thing is that I don't really have a time restriction: as long as it doesn't take, say, two months can take my time...0 -
I've sent a lot of things to Estonia....its as cheap as any other EU country if you shop arount.
Parcelmonkey used to be very cheap to those destinations but now very expensive.
I use a company called epostal.mirrorz.com I have used them In Italy too...they have an italian website too....I forgot what is called now....
Anyway....they used to be really cheap as well for sending to USA and even Australia....I sent a 28kg box to Australia for £65 last year.
Now their prices have gone up too.....but they are very chea for the EU....upto 50kg as well.
There have been other companies from time to time...but a lot have gone out of business!! I guess they should have charged a bit more to make some money.
oh well the credit crunch/recesion is here ......_pale_0 -

collectmyparcel.com have a DHL Euro Plus service to Estonia (30Kg, 55cm x 30cm x 30xm) for £42.06.0 -
Just thought I would update everyone, I contacted UPS who quoted me £165 to deliver just the long parcel. In the end Parcelsplease gave me the best quote so I have booked with them.
Had a look at Biggerparcels but beyond the homepage there not up and running at the moment. However I do think if they get it right they could be onto a very good thing, there seems to be a gap in the market for lare parcels that are too small to be pallets.
Thanks everyone for your help and replys

Through Transglobal, have got a quote of £27.66 + vat through DPD.
Anyone think I can get cheaper / any experiences?

I have since been advised by others that this is not the best way to ship pallets, as this is not a dedicated pallet type service and has hidden surcharges that arrive a week or so after you have made the booking. I am in dispute with many of these surcharge notices and will endeavour to post any developments here on this site to help others that may be have been or are experiencing similar problems.
Transglobal email you a 'Weight Variance Notice' to say that the carrier has weighed the goods and the weight is different from that what has been entered into the online booking form at time of shipment.
So far when I have asked Transglobal for a copy of the 'report' from the carrier they state ' you are not privy to see'
It would appear that there is such competition in the 'parcels' industry that a number of carriers work like this, surcharges being the way to 'make up' profits. In my opinion it's a numbers game: Out of 100 surcharge notices issued some or even most? may get paid as it is time consuming for people to deal with and may be difficult to prove.
Is there a person with legal knowledge that may be able to cast some light into whether this practice is lawful, as these later surcharge amounts of money go from my credit card straight away. A recent pallet I sent out has had no less than 3 surcharges applied to it. Add these together than I may as well have used a different more expensive carrier. The online booking form is designed to quote you a price but you have to tick boxes relating to terms and conditions that allow them to use your credit card for later surchages. The initail price has always been different from the final price in my expereince.
Typically these surcharges range for the following things-
1/ Weight Variance
2/ If the pallet is 120 X 100 cm (in other words if you use a standard pallet)
3/ Remote area surcharge : This is covered because if DHL decide to farm out the delivery to a sub contractor delivery firm then this is also charged.
4/ Anything over 70 kgs (typically a pallet with goods on)
Just to complicate things even further there is the 'volumetric' weight:
so if your consignment is over a certain volumetric weight then more fees apply. Volumetric weight is worked out like this. Length X Breadth X Height in cms eg 100 X 100 X100 = 1,000,000. divide this by 4,000 = 250
that means 250 Kgs
Genuine responses to this posting welcome to help others.

I normally use parcelmonkey and they have been excellent.
However I need to post an item to the highlands - PH33 and obviously there is an increased cost.
I was wondering if anyone knows who is the cheapest for highlands postage?
Please get back ASAP and thanks in advance.0 -
If they dont reply soon, either citylink or pm are at fault. I would find who is at fault and take the relevant party to court(suppose you could also take the buyer to court for fraud)
you were sold a service which you did not receive. Id settle either for either a value of £175, and if not id be taking them to court0 -
Well according to Citylink, Parcel Connect are their customer and authorised it (she suggested perhaps as I am parcel connects customer they Parcel Connect should have contacted me for authorisation). NO phone number for parcel connect.
Can not understand why they would authorise it. So foolish.:TSTAY CALM and CARRY ON0 -
