Just to note my one parcel I booked through Parcel Monkey, reference PM_198817_272377, did not get collected today - again. The 23 I booked with another courier as PM was down over weekend, were all collected fine.
    Disappointing.

Just had a look at the PM site. They're the cheapest for normal under 10kg, normal sized parces to:
    The UK
    To Ireland
    To the Isle of Wight

but they are not so cheap to:
    Other Islands
    Northern Ireland

and internationally, we've also got no idea as thats disabled at the moment

I wont be using them 100%, but I will use them more often now, seeing as though they are cheaper to Ireland and the Isle of Wight lol.

We've got a listing on both shiply and uship, however for exactly the same delivery the bids on uship are around 20% cheaper.

Anyone know why. Is there hidden cost with uship?

I send and receive a lot of parcels through various couriers and they ALL attempt 3 times, leaving you a card so you can ring to arrange a convenient day. Most even leave with neighbours providing you sign something and leave it on the door. Ive found citylink, ups and dhl all do this. Parcelforce leave at the post office. The only courier that is a pain is Home delivery network which most people hopefully know to steer clear of

My point though (which you seem to be missing) is a lot of people don't like courier deliveries as they are at work all day and its more convenient to pick items up from a local sorting office. As nice as having 3 attempts at delivery is nice if thats in working hours (which it will be) its not convenient for a lot of people. That is why a lot of people avoid ebay listings with courier deliveries and also why some buyers would be annoyed if what was stated as a RM delivery was changed to a courier one. Also parcelforce will redeliver if you request and also deliver on saturdays (which couriers don't unless you pay extra)

Couriers are useful and can give good prices and service but the options are not suitable for everyone.

They state "no hidden charges" :j; http://www.uship.com/ship/

I would imagine that it's simply because there are more couriers and delivery companies registered with uShip, and therefore your advert is getting more exposure.

  • I have waited in all day for a parcel to be collected by City Link, via Parcel Monkey. Needless to say Im still waiting!
I contacted City Link, who tried to contact the collecting depot (Manchester) but there is no reply, what do I do now? Do I contact Parcel Monkey, or City Link for a refund or should I send a dispute with paypal?
